I've always been more intrigued with Cersei and how manipulative and evil she is too. I am eager to know her ending of the story more than anyone else at this point.

 

This made it slightly better for me. I still would have objected to it totally and utterly if I were involved in making the show, but this is a good way of looking at it .

 

Haha when it happened in the show on first watch, my very close friend in the most flamboyant voice he could do goes "Ooooh shit. Night King looking sexy bad right fucking now lemme get it." I was in tears.

 

Cersei is an awesome character, and I suppose her over the NK being the final bad is part of what separates GoT from LOTR-type stuff and fantasy that hews too closely to that type of formula .

 

In my eyes, Night King was done dirty and took a hit he didn't deserve for mankind, and turned evil.

Cersei, born evil. Dad was evil, mom couldn't give birth to a decent human being and died.
And she only became more sinister as time passed.

The night king did nothing wrong!

 

Reminder that the Night King had a slight smirk at Hardhome when he rose the dead. Looked a lot more sinister just because that actor looked way scarier IMO

Still waiting for the "BUT DOES THE NIGHT KING FUCK?" take. Voldemort had a secret love child, why not the Night King!? HAVE THE BOOKS HINTED THAT THE NIGHT KING IS TYRION'S REAL FATHER THIS WHOLE TIME?????????

I didn’t remember that at all and I just went and watched it again, don’t see anything resembling a smirk. Certainly nothing at all like what was in this one.

Boy is that still a cool scene. I really hate that they tried to cut costs with him later. He was so terrifying then.

 

NK is secretly Jon and Dany’s baby from the future.

 

What did they do to cut costs with the NK...?

 

I watched a version that someone took and turned the brightness up and in that version, I saw that when the dragons were fighting, there were multiple shots of their claws digging into each others' skin and blooding flying out. I 100% could not see that when I watched it live. I saw zero blood or claw marks on their bodies. That's how bad it was, very disappointing.

 

Change from the original actor who was a bigger name. And maybe not technically “costs” for part of it, but the makeup definitely changed to focus more on being used in a physical sense instead of just for a look, and it made it much less threatening and costumey. The original really seemed fo be carved from ice.

 

I'm gonna have to go back and check this out. I think so much time passed and I watched it so sporadically I didnt really notice this.

That was one of the only instances I really cared about, to be honest. A lot of the action shots I can forgive because it's kind of supposed to be chaotic and random bodies are just flying around, but I legitimately couldn't tell what was going on with the dragons. I couldn't differentiate the three of them (aside from the blue flames) or tell who was winning until NK got knocked off. In general, it just seems like a waste because they spend so much time filming and making everything look good and convincing in the editing just to have the finished product be indistinguishable to the majority of viewers.

 

100% agreed on everything. It was a garbled mess.
