Realistically speaking, it's possible to be at the funeral but not actually meet. Especially since Fury always seems to be waiting in a closet until the moment comes where he can do his shifty walk-in entrance haha.

Just rewatched the Assemble scene on YouTube and even in shitty quality that scene gave me goosebumps

I wonder if this will break TFA weekday box office records. TFA released the week of Christmas so more people had free time to see the film. If Endgame can beat that during a normal week then that will be impressive.

I know my theater has most of its nighttime showings sold out or just having the front rows open for the weekdays, but it is harder at this point in the year. To start, they didn't break Monday though. (TFA and Black Panther are 1/2.)

Looked like Fury didn't interact with anyone at the funeral. He didn't even reconnect with Carol. Just hung in the back.

I was thinking about that after seeing it, but I also realized that probably would've had to be a last-minute reshoot or shot right at the end of Captain Marvel's filming since Endgame was shot before Captain Marvel. It definitely would've been cool to see, but I wouldn't prioritize it over what we did get in that epilogue scene of what the future might hold for some of the heroes.

so like I don't know really any Captain Marvel lore, I'm guessing there's some reason there, but as far as I know this film offered like no explanation as to how Carol did not age at all in the 20+ years since the events of the Captain Marvel film right?

are we to just assume magic space powers cancel out aging?

this didn't bug me at all cuz she was barely in it I'm more legit curious

Which will be weird in 10 years when Brie has obviously aged and her character ages slowly.

The kree dna in her might be what makes her age slower.

I read somewhere it could be a combination of her powers from the Space Stone, the Kree blood, and the fact that relativity kicks in when you're flying around space at light speed for so long.

$37 million Monday, only $3 million less than Black Panther (it’s Monday was a holiday) and TFA (it’s Monday was the week of Christmas). That’s impressive.

I’m just gonna say it’s because it’s a comic book movie and it doesn’t matter. On to more pressing issues, how the hell did they know they could breathe at Thanos’ farm. It’s because there were plants there right? Must be oxygen

I'm reading through this thread and I'm pretty far behind, but I just want to chime in on the time travel. First, I feel like time travel scenarios almost always end up not working out with much scrutiny unless it's done (as someone else mentioned) the way Harry Potter did it, where the events of the future person already happened in the past. Anytime it's altering the past things get muddy.

That being said, I feel like the one area that actually holds up is Cap going back to be with Peggy, so I'm kind of surprised that's the part people are picking apart. The way I see it, that changes nothing, since he was frozen that whole time anyway he's not altering anything about his past. I would assume he is going to live a much quieter life and he will not reveal himself to the world, so you know there are a couple assumptions or leaps you have to make (Peggy's other husband was really Cap but they knew they couldn't tell anyone, Peggy knew she would live her life out with Steve when she sees him as an old lady so she has to do a little acting), but those are pretty minor. Overall I don't think there's really any reason him being there would create a divergent reality.

Lol for sure. I think if you try thinking about anything from these movies for too long you reach that point. And that’s fine by me
