What was the surprise during the Q&A? (don't worry, I'll still listen to the episode)

Director Rodman Fletcher made an 8 minute behind the scenes featurette called "Working Hands".
Not what we were expecting, but very cool and provided some neat insight.

Haven't seen any of these films. Are any of these a must see?

Sweeney Todd (saw the first 10 min and really wasn't feeling it)
    The Burbs
    Creepshow 2
    Chopping Mall

The Burbs isn't necessarily scary but it's Joe Dante and enjoyable if you like the tone of his movies. Creepshow 2 is a solid sequel, The Raft being the best of the three.

As mentioned, The Burbs is not scary but it is absolutely a classic staple of the Tom Hanks filmography haha.

I remember enjoying it enough. haven't had a desire to revisit it though so I wouldn't call it a "must see"

  14. Yeah, it's been a while but I remember wanting to like that one a lot more than I actually did

I didn't mind it when I saw it in 2007 but then again I'm not a fan of musicals

  16. I can't remember the last time I saw a Tim Burton film. The first Alice? I used to be so into his work; now I'm just ambivalent.

Anyway, Johnny Depp's an asshole, so.

I insisted on seeing Sweeney Todd in theaters cause my sister insisted on going to this 18+ year club in the city for her 18th bday and so I got stuck hanging with my mom killing time until they were done. Anyway, afterwards she gave me a lecture about how she was concerned for the dark path I was on for picking that movie lmao. I don't remember it much now.

I worked at a DVD/CD shop when it came out. The goth manager played the soundtrack on repeat every day she worked.

I have a strong dislike for the film having never seen it because of that...

    omg this is hilarious.

This was actually the first R-rated movie I bought my own ticket to because I had just turned 17, but I had my dad come into the theater with me just in case lmao. My dad is super religious but also was a pothead metal guy as a teen, so he was kind of always just like "ok this is my goth lite daughter it'll probably work itself out."

Lol my mom was just a weirdo. I also obsessively read those Series of Unfortunate Events books as a kid and she later admitted she had been concerned for me cause they're so ~dark. She's a liberal non religious non traditional young parent lmao so idk what her deal was but she was more like "this is my goth lite daughter... and SHES GOING DOWN A DARK PATH!!!!" It was always the dark path lmao
