Forgot to mention - once our showing ended, after everyone stuck around for the post credits audio stinger, one the teen employees snarkily shouted a the crowd "there's your two second sound byte you all waited for!" and they all laughed at us. Such a strange moment.

  4. So final tally so far for my screening was Pikachu, Hobbs & Shaw, MiB, Gemini Man, Dark Phoenix, Lion King, and Star Wars. Geez, 7 trailers + the Cinemark ad!

Still haven't read any of the thread but Google Thanos and tap the gauntlet.

Again I haven't read this thread so I apologize if it's been posted.

Feel bad for Emily VanCamp’s character.

I’m super curious how this all shakes out for the future of this franchise now. The people who got dusted just lost five years of life with their loved ones. That does actually make me feel better about the ending to Infinity War because there are legitimate consequences.

Feel REAL bad for Scott. His whole arc in Ant-Man & The Wasp revolved around getting back home to his daughter so he wouldn’t miss any more time with her. Damn.

  9. Wait so my theatre had a curtain and closed it. I didn’t hear anything. What was it??

  10. Idk man. I was stoked there were only 2 trailers though. It was at a small Indy theatre here in LA so maybe that’s why? didn’t go to a chain which made finding a seat a weird old school feeling. One of the best movie theatre going experiences I’ve ever been to, though.

  11. Just the sound of metal clanking together. Everyone is saying it's a callback to the first Iron Man.

One thing I do kind of wish I got to see was more of the chaos created in the wake of the snap. The first teaser for this showed us the empty stadium and desolate city and then the support group. That had me pretty hyped for some sorrowful The Leftovers worldwide grief...but then those shots from the trailer wound up being all that we really got. Not even like a news story or even a single reference to who took over Wakanda. I guess maybe subsequent films might follow up on that. I guess I was just taken aback by it because they tell us continuously throughout the film how devastated the world is, but never really show us. Captain Marvel even says that what’s happening on Earth is happening on every planet, but like...what IS happening on Earth? The turbulent post credits scene from Infinity War really piqued my interest in seeing how the world reacts to its heroes failing them so miserably and the havoc it wreaked on their lives. I mean, god, imagine what it’d be like for all of those people to suddenly just reappear again five years later after you’ve begun to move on. Maybe you were married with kids before and your spouse was snapped away and now you’ve moved on finally to someone else and oh hey your spouse and kids are back now but they haven’t aged a damn day while you have. That’s just a personal level. There would be complete political upheaval at State and National level and those people in positions of power would have to be replaced and then oh hey five years later all those people are back again so oh god now what do you do?

I get that they wanted and needed to focus on the Avengers team and how this affected them personally, which I think they do successfully, but I am surprised at how insular it feels.

Which heroes did Thanos not end up fighting? I think he has literally fought every hero, except for a few.

After all the memes I don’t think Antman and Thanos ever interacted

I think this was definitely a choice to focus more on the team. I feel like one thing the marvel movies dont really do well is invest you in like, the populace/the ordinary people are civilians because they choose to push the characters and their interactions/personalities. I think they wanted this movie to focus on that and delivering a payoff of those many relationships crafted over so many movies. Maybe the directors were like well if they wanna see what happens in the leftovers....that show already exists and did it better than we possibly could in this movie.

Did Rocket? I'm pretty sure he didn't fight him in Wakanda in Infinity War and I don't remember him ever fighting him at the end of this

EDIT: Never mind he met him at the very beginning at the garden ignore me

They look really good for people who just directed Infinity War and Endgame back-to-back. Like really good.

I saw this at an indie theater here and before the movie started an employee came out and was like "this movie is way long and we don't have a lot of time between showings or for trailers so we're going to get into it pretty quickly," then they showed the new Star Wars trailer then right into Endgame. was very good
