If there isn't a detective hat pooch in Go this week, what was the point?

I'm just going to pretend it doesn't exist. Zero desire for that film to be made

I love stuff that's bad especially with Sonic so I want it all

Like I fucking love the edginess of Shadow and the ridiculous voice acting in Adventure 1 and 2....honestly just all 3D Sonic stuff I love to enjoy more than 2D Sonic

Just... I NEED to see Jim Carrey’s take on Dr. Robotnik. It sounds like such a train wreck

Wow, and it's a fairly recent film too. Had zero clue about it haha. Looks like it wasn't very well-received.

Looks like it isn't on Netflix US

If I can convince myself to do my homework early this week then I will 100% be watching this on Tuesday. That’s a big if tho

Edit: wait! No, I’m wrong. The following Tuesday lol

I still have a soft spot for the Super Mario Bros. movie

    So assuming that this weekend...

The best defense of the "Super Mario Bros." movie I've ever heard was when someone pointed out that if the movie were directly based on the video game it would be really boring, as all Mario did was go from one side of the screen to the other and jump on Goombas. Of course the movie needed to add more to the story.

That being said, what they added to the story was... not Mario at all. But if you take away all of the Mario-ness of the movie it's kind of decent, in a trippy steam-punk late 80s/early 90s kind of way.

I recently listened to the episode of The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show where he interviews a SMB movie historian

    Things have changed.

The absolute WORST video game movie is Street Fighter. I don't think it's close.

I saw that movie twice in theaters as a kid and also felt it was bad. But this oral history of the movie with the screenwriter turned director Stephen de Souza is worth the read.
