All the raptor scenes in JP3 are great. Everything else is pretty stupid. (but fun!)

 

I agree!

I hate the Spinosaur. I get they felt they needed to replace the T Rex with something "bigger" but it just didn't work for me.

 

As dumb as it is, I still love the cell phone gimmick being inside the dinosaur and the pan over to see him just standing at the tree line.

 

For years after that, every time I heard that ringtone I’d lift my head and say “Spinosaur.”

 

That's how I feel about a lot of the movie actually. Entertaining, but really dumb. The Spino felt weird because he just kept popping up everywhere they went. The dinos in the first couple of movies were kind of just acting like animals - trying to eat them when they were close or trying to run them off because the humans stole their baby. The Spinosaur just had a vendetta against the people.

 

And let’s not forget the movie pretty much just ending out of nowhere with a sped up theme song to make it sound patriotic haha

 

lol the music at the end always made me laugh, but I also get a kick out their reactions. They're talking to a single guy on the beach who has a megaphone then they're like "Oh hey, look over there" *thousands of soldiers, boats, helicopters, planes, etc. that they somehow couldn't hear*

Not to mention the ENTIRE plot of the movie was based around the fact that the parents couldn't get anyone to help rescue their son from the island. Yet Laura Dern's character apparently makes one phone call and they sent "the Navy AND the Marines!" to do exactly that. I feel like that's a huge plot hole that goes unnoticed because people don't even care at that point.

 

You guys are all missing the huge failure of that ending. The raptors run away because of a whistle just moments before the Marines show up.... anti climatic.

Biggest missed opportunity to not have an epic Marines vs Raptors shoot out/fight on the beach instead. I'll never forgive it.

 

Oh don't worry, I'm sure JW3 will give us that at some point. haha.

 

And you know the raptors will have the guns in that one haha

 

The only redemption in my eyes.

And since they keep shoe-horning in the original T Rex from the first movie, she needs this upgrade:

 

JP3 also had the decency of only being about 90 minutes.

There's an animated series coming to Netflix next year

 

Apparently it’s about a group of kids who get stranded on the island

 

That might actually be fun? Netflix has been doing pretty good with animated series

 

I’m absolutely here for a jurassic park/lost/lord of the flies kinda show haha

 

I’m actually down with a non-horror type version of JP but this could go a ton of ways. I would have loved this as a kid.

 

Yeah hopefully it's not like a Nick Jr type show haha

 

Oh super uninterested in an animated show

 

Ok I need that

 

I mean with how meh the last two films were I think this is a good direction to go in for the franchise
