Basically, Kevin Shields controlled the recording with an iron fist. Like he straight up told producers that they were there just to push buttons. It went massively over-budget and nearly bankrupted Creation Records. To this day, Alan McGee, the head of said label, still hates that record and doesn’t understand the hype for it.

I want a take a moment from the fun to talk about something. So I tried for years to try to learn the guitar but my addictions kept me back. I want to try again but I feel like I’ll just give up again, is it wrong to feel this way?

 

Go for it. Imagine how good you'll feel if you don't give up this time.

That's not to say you're failing if you do give up. But the reward outweighs the risk imo.

 

It's not wrong to feel this way BUT playing guitar is a GREAT way to fight any urges occurring because of your addictions too

I bought 2 guitars with all the money I saved from not drinking and not smoking and it's how I relax now and it makes me feel so good about myself to play em even though I'm not great

 

Why don't you just try again and see what happens? Learning a full song and then moving on to the next one might keep you interested and moving forward.

 

yes. it's never wrong to pursue something you have an interest in, unless, of course, it would in any way trigger those addictions, but I say go for it. what do you have to lose by trying?
