that was so cool to read. I see one of the pics is of his gf Gabby playing the bass--at the show I was at he said that she learned bass specifically to play this tour(!)

 

Lol he said that at my date too. I think she already knew how to play bass tho because the audiotree session for the first record she was the one playing bass on it haha

 

Oh what? Pulling a fast one on us haha

 

I saw Mat open for Sorority Noise in 2017. I can't remember if she played then too

 

"They Appear at Night" is freaking gorgeous. Haven't had a full listen yet, but I really like what I am hearing so far, pretty diverse and stuff I wasn't expecting.

 

Wow, I'm loving this. The Queen-like moments are great.

 

This is like, comically better than Luna. And I liked that album

 

This album should be getting way more press...

 

This is damn good.

 

Yeah this album is great. Better than Luna in every single way and reading Matt's thoughts on the whole album just gives this one so much more weight.

 

Young is awesome and is so melodic. Spider Silk is a gem.

 

Album is really nice. Don't think there is a song on it that I like as much as Riding In Your Car or From None but probably better overall than Luna.

Are so damn great, fucking top tier tracks. Not that I don't love the rest, but those particularly give me that melancholic hopeful feeling I haven't felt in a while, love them.

 

My wife is obsessed with the album. I think it’s got insane potential if they can get something out there

 

I think so too, I'm pretty floored by it.

 

I'm due to revisit the record. Haven't played it digitally yet. So glad i got it on vinyl.

 

For as much airplay as Ruby and Diamonds get, Young has slowly become my favorite on this album.

Ruby is better than Luna but I feel the latter is a more cohesive album.

 

I haven’t listened to this enough yet to comment on many specific songs but I know I adore ruby and really don’t like diamonds so far

It just sounds so much like something many people on here would love.

 

Finally gave this album a proper listen last night on a 2 hour drive. My gf and I both absolutely love it. I think my favorite is still Diamonds right now, but I'm also digging Young.

 

This album took me by surprise. My favorite is Hawthorne but so many good songs on this. Probably the best thing Mat has been involved with since 'Youth'.
