I still remember the same group of dudes not reacting like we reacted during Illusion's memorable drive home from Tower. I was still buzzing over Abolition and moments here and there, but I remember saying that I'd have to listen to it some more to fully figure out what's what. Unfortunately, it never grew on me. That gut instinct upon first listen proved to be a real thing. So much of it blends together as the same song, more or less.

I was also the victim of my own expectations. I didn't set expectations for IC or Illusion.

 

I discovered Thrice at the time Beggars was coming out.

Fan since IOS and Artist is amazing.

 

I still think the title track of TAITA would have been their biggest hit if they had released it as a single.

TAITA might be one of my least favorite Thrice songs TAITA and forward. Fucking hate that song lol

 

The take that something that isn’t “a giant leap forward” is somehow a step backward or a disappointment is infinitely frustrating.

TAITA is one of my least favorites on the album but it’s still solid

 

I figured out what band Mike J is in, but won’t reveal his secret if he promises to admit that TAITA (the album) is great.

 

Blinded is so good (Riley owns it).

And Words in the water is one of their best songs, period.

They’re both lyrically horrendous and offensive to me.

 

Is he Mike “Jawa” Einziger from Incubus?

 

Still hard to believe, but I gotta give you major props for always sticking with that story.

Collage of when I saw and met them on the Beggars tour. Singed ticket, flyer and I printed out my own setlist to always remember it. I'm a known air guitarist and Ed wouldn't do it with me, but agreed to point and laugh while I did it. Best picture ever probably.

Here it is, the most sentimental. I was a casual fan before I saw this show. Went by chance because my brother had an extra ticket. Wasn't a BN fan and but knew Vheissu and Artist a little bit so decided to go. Their set and performance blew me away and super fan from that point on. Also it got me into mewithoutyou since I never had heard of them either.
