Will be at the Philly show. Hopefully SOTC too. And really hope they add "This Must Be My Dream" to the set..

Finally gonna write my review tonight, hopefully I can articulate my thoughts well. There's a lot to tackle here.

 

I cannot imagine having to write a review on this album. It would probably take me months.

 

writing my review for this was such a draining and productive experience for me. I wish it could have had triple the word count

 

Haha I ended up putting it off til today, I needed more time to gather my thoughts.

 

Does anyone else feel like there's a major disconnect between the verse lyrics on "The Sound" and the chorus lyrics? Having trouble making sense of the dichotomy

the mixing on this album is just immaculate. for example, the stereo image of the guitars on "paris" and how they sit just outside the vocals on both sides. beautifully done.

 

Put this down for a while, came back and I'm even more in love. I'm comfortable with calling this an all time favorite. Albums like this don't come around very often. I can only think of 2 others that have hit me this hard and at such a specific time.

Hey! Really great review, man. You covered a lot of ground in essentially track-by-track fashion without it feeling unwieldy, and there's a lot of strong contextual stuff around the band's reception that makes this album particularly interesting from a cultural standpoint.

I've been putting off writing about this one, but your piece made me want to get my notes together.

ive listened damn near every day since it dropped haha, im quite addicted to it

 

I actually think my favorite track on this now is Paris and it was my least favorite initially. Just love everything about the lyrics and it's easily listenable for any mood.

 

You ever dance around singing along to this album?

That's what I've done this morning and it's distracted me from my breakfast lol

 

Yep. Especially to "The sound". I was playin' some shakers along with it, dancing around my house while drinkin' beer last weekend

 

The Sound now plays over the corporate radio station at work and I keep telling people, "OMG, they are going to ruin this song for me since it's not played sequentially with the other songs in the album ughhhh". I'm saying it to be pompous and humorous, but I'm also serious haha.
