Also did I miss something? Negan and Judith were with Father Gabriel & Eugene’s group that were leaving Alexandria(right?). Where did that group go if Negan is back in Alexandria with Michonne and that group?

I think they were still in Alexandria, just hoofing it from one end of town to the other

Yeah you're right. They said lets go to Aaron's house at one point. I was pretty confused in the episode for some reason.

I haven't read the comics but isn't the voice someone from Commonwealth?

Yes. In the comics it’s Stephanie from the Commonwealth and Eugene builds a sense of trust with her over several weeks. When Rick finally finds out they all speak with Stephanie and agree to send a small group to the Commonwealth to check it out.
Not sure if that’s what they’ll do in the show, but possible.

So basically last week's episode was Thanos' snap, and this week was the after credit scenes? This was a great season and I'm glad I can be excited for The Walking Dead again. Honestly I thought Rick's exit would kill this show, but it had the opposite effect. I think it made it more exciting because now most of the lead characters on the show were either not in the comics or had a totally different fate. Also the Whisperers bring a creepy feeling that I think translates better on television than in the comics.

I'd also argue that keeping Rick alive was a REALLY good move....it creates an unknown element of knowing he's out there somewhere and you know somewhere down the line he's going to come back. Excited to see what these Rick movies are all about.

Is the commonwealth where we assume Rick was being helicoptered to? If so, it would make sense that they approached Lincoln about doing movies, but he told them the movies + the show would be too much time away from his family and he couldn't film both, so they figured out a way to write it in so that he disappears for a season or two to film the movies. After the movies are done, he returns to the show to (presumably) finish off the show, if it ever ends lol

I would sincerely hope it is the commonwealth that he went to, and that they are the ones on the other end of the radio. Once the Whisperer war is finished in season 9, the whole show should end with season 10 and being re-united with Rick. I could see Rick being taken by another group (the helicopter people) but finding out they are bad and him escaping them and ending up at the commonwealth after that (the movies covering this), but this show should not continue beyond 10 seasons, regardless whether ratings are still strong or not.

I'll admit that I was anxious that Rick left and all the drama around characters leaving but damn, this has been one of, if not the, favourite season of this show.

It’s been fantastic. Watching the finale tonight and for the first time in a while will be sad to have to wait months for new episodes!

Omg, I just caught up with the penultimate episode and the heads on the spikes. My jaw literally dropped. Is this in the comics? Crazy!!!

It is and the "big deaths" were even bigger in the comics.

I didn't know that the actors who played Sophia, Young Henry and Teen Henry were all brothers and sister. (Madison, Macsen, Matt Lintz)

I don't know if I agree with that. A lot of them were similar (community people, Negan's wife, etc.), the only big one in the comics was Ezekiel. I think the last three on the show were just as big/important.

The Walking Dead world has to progress somehow I suppose so I understand why but I don’t particularly like it.

I still say there’s gotta be a finite number of zombies. At some point either all zombies would be dead or all living would be zombies

Instead of doing that I wish they’d just use a story that already exists and is hinted to be within the same world of TWD, like Jonathan Maberry’s rot&ruin and Dead of night series’

There's an audience that wants a 3rd show? I couldn't finish S2 of FTWD myself.

Finished the finale tonight and I think I've decided to stop watching the show after 9 years. Not that it's bad, I just don't find myself interested in the characters anymore as much as I used to before Rick "died." I wanted to finish out the season to make sure and while it still maintained some quality it was just not enough to keep me invested for a show in its 9th year with no end in sight.

My favorite thing about the show was the character of Rick Grimes and Andrew Lincoln's performance, he was the main character after all. So to me it feels like the show's series finale was Rick's last episode. I don't see myself continuing the show since it just feels like another WD spin-off to me at this point (The tone of the show has changed, feels less visceral but with a stronger theme of community) I'll most likely watch the Rick movies when they come out though.

I'm the complete opposite. Rick's character had gotten so stale and redundant to me. It was like the same story line over and over with him. Show has been infinitely better since he has been out.

I thought seasons 6, 7, 8 were laughably bad and extremely boring/hard to watch. I thought the last 10-11 episodes of Season 9 were right up there with some of the best seasons (not better, but...up there).

FTWD is worth watching for Garret Dillahunt alone. One of the most underrated actors.

This, completely. Season 9, particularly the latter half, felt so fresh compared to the last few seasons.
