Love the trailer. Hate the title

I'm concerned about the "Rey flip" that most seem to love.

One of my many complaints about the prequels was how they made the Jedi into basically superheroes.

I really appreciated that the first two films, the fighting was much more "grounded" (like the OT). My preference would be for it to stay that way.

 

I loved TLJ but have issues with certain aspects of it. I think that’s okay, and people who don’t like TLJ as much as me (for valid reasons that aren’t rooted in sexism/racism/general stupidity) don’t bother me... I think critical discussion of a movie is a good thing. People not sharing your exact viewpoint on a film is okay.

Anyway, let’s all get hyped for The Rise of Skywalker!!

Luke did flips and did force jumps in the OG trilogy. I totally get the superpower thing as I do want to avoid that. But as long as it doesnt go crazy with it I actually like flips and some wire-fu stuff. But as you say. keep it grounded and dont rely on it too much

 

I think the Force Flip is far more believable then the Force Speed ala Episode One

 

I highly doubt they go full prequel with flips and shit. There was a little bit of big flips and jumps in the OT. Mainly in the duel on Bespin (Vader does a goofy leap over the stairs, Luke jumps a ridiculous height to get out of the carbonite pit). If they keep it to a few things like this, it'll be fine and cool by me.

 

Yeah Force Speed is easily the worst Force power. Everyone agree?

 

I love how 1:08 of the 2 minute trailer is the rey vs. the TIE scene. that plus the short clips and the cackle is all i needed. Glad I watched

 

I saw that post and totally didn't register the democracy reference until now haha.

 

The only thing I can recall from Luke was one flip during Empire. Are there more that I am missing?

Crazy that this sequel trilogy is almost over. I vividly remember sitting down in the theater for the first viewing of TFA.

 

I mean sure it was only like 3.5 yrs ago but still flew by

And I do believe the flip I am thinking of was actually Jedi. He ends up on a catwalk or whatever via back flip.

 

Also he force jumps in ROTJ as well doesn't he?

Slow-mo action like that is always super cheesy to me. Not fun cheesy... like bad Zack Snyder action cheesy. Luke's duck under Kylo's lightsaber in TLJ is another example.
