  3. i love looking through old posts and finding ones where for example david argues that you can't just cut military spending because military r&d is good actually

“Kardashian West added she's always been interested in criminal law — her father Robert Kardashian famously was on the team of lawyers representing O.J. Simpson — but she was inspired while she working to free Alice Marie Johnson from prison last year. Kardashian West met with President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss Johnson's case, and Johnson's life sentence for a nonviolent drug crime was successfully commuted.”

He doesn’t have anywhere near the national profile Bernie or Warren have, though. I doubt many people even know he’s running.

its weird that Bernie does *better* with moderate/conservative voters. Any one have any explanations for why this is?

Maybe it's his anti-elite/anti-establishment message? Also he's old and white and male, which helps.

  13. I honestly don't know. I was looking through Nate Silver's replies to see if anyone had any guesses but it's just all people excited Bernie's numbers are going down.

  14. And this doesn't make any sense to me at all.

  16. Biden is an even worse John Kerry.

Every time I look at his poll numbers all I can think about is: I wish everyone cared about this even 50% as much as I do, cause jesus no one is paying attention

Military R&D leads to a lot of breakthroughs in certain fields so it’s not like just cutting it is good. ITs also basically a jobs program so cutting it means jobs are lost, so it’s gotta be shifted into spending elsewhere that creates jobs.

I think a big chunk of dems just want to win, they’ll vote for whoever is leading the pack. Right now it’s biden based almost only on name recognition, if he’s out Bernie gets a big boost.

The fact that Biden is consistently rated as the most "electable" proves that nobody actually knows what "electability" means so the media should stop talking about it and just cover policy

  23. So I see this going around the "never-Bernie" crowd today:

    It's from ... 2015.

Taking a closer look at the crosstabs, I think it might be an awareness thing.

37% of liberal voters have "No opinion" or "not heard of" Gillibrand. Its 56% for conservatives / moderates.

    Booker is 19% / 42%
    Pete is 33% / 60%
    Klobaucher is 33% / 46%
    Harris is 20% / 33%
    Betois 20% / 34%
    Warren is 7% / 21%
Bernie is 3% / 7% (with 0% in never heard of)
Biden is 4% / 9% (also with 0% never heard of)

So feels like the liberal voters are more aware of the candidates and their platforms. While the conservative/moderate voters haven't bothered to take the time yet. Those Bernie moderates could be people who don't like Joe and simply haven't bothered to learn about the other candidates to realize there are other options.
