    I think that's true too.

I didn't even like Bored to Death much at all... to the point where I forgot to even check out Rabbit Hole and still haven't. People saying that Bored to Death is their favorite so far is leaving me feeling like I'll end up not liking this album, that song was so damn forgettable to me. I'll listen to the other two when I get home tho.

Bored to Death is by far the best song so far, but yeah, agreed

I wasn't huge on BTD. This song, while not perfect, has way better parts to it than any of the other songs released imo.

i thought rabbit hole was better than btd but they are way different from each other. i'm not listening to any more until the album is out.

How is that relevant? That's related to the song title and actually has meaning. Repeating the song titles for emphasis (ie 'Im Sorry', 'Down', etc) is completely different. I'm on about random sylablles thrown in for melodic purposes (na's, whoa's, etc). . Found in songs such as:

    All The Small Things
    Online Songs
    TV
    Wishing Well

    and now in:
    Bored to Death
    Rabbit Hole
    No Future

They've almost caught up with their entire catalogue of songs with it. Don't necessarily mind it so far but just hope it's not a reoccuring theme cos "hey, this is a Summer album!". It's a lyrical cop-out.

Correct. But I'm not insulting repetitive lyrics. Choruses themselves are usually repetitive in nature. I'm critiquing the use of random melodic sylablles as filler lyrics.

One of my favorite songs had a singer just scream "YEAH!" "YEAH YEAH yeaaaaah" "YEAH!"...the whole chorus

  11. And I'm saying they're basically the same thing and extremely prevalent in Blink songs.

  13. a lyric video make you like the song less? that's a (dumb) personal problem. it's pretty easy to click play and then do something else so you don't have to watch a lyric video, ha.

I get what they're saying, though. First play reading along with the lyrics and Mark's year 2000 pop delivery made me hate the song so I let it continue playing while I did something else and it sounded great--Granted that's when Skiba stepped in.

Yeah, that's fine. If it's melodic them it can work. It's worked for Blink before. I just don't want to see this album have a huge reliance on such clichés for "summer vibes". It's already in 3 of the main releases. For me, personally, it gets slightly irritating. But still a minor critique; it's certainly nothing to throw me off the album completely.

They're still pointless filler lyrics - which I believe is only in 4 previous Blink songs. Not the same as repetitive lyrics (imo anyway).

This one is my least favorite of the three i've heard, so far.

  17. down down down down down ... i get so ... down down down down down down down

I definitely think that's up there with as pointless filler lyrics as you can get. (Also you missed some other oh ohs in quite a few songs, but I'm not really gonna go back and point them all out.)

Down bugs me a lot more than na na na

Those compressed, and maybe autotuned vocals -- i dunno, are a turn off. I don't like this song

At least we can comprehend the meaning and it relates to the song title 'Down'. Still not the best comparison to syllable clichés for easy melodies to try and hit a "summer vibe".

    "Na na na" *repeated*
What blink song is that? Could be either AtST, Online Songs, or No Future. What's the meaning behind the choice of words beyond lyrical nonsense to try and be catchy?

Is that really how they wrote that song? Seems pretty unorthodox to come up with a song title and then write the lyrics to tie in with it.

It's just that this is the third song in the row to contain such lyrics. Plenty of people have pointed out their disdain for the repetive 'na's and 'oh's in these new songs... even in this thread. But personal preferences, I guess.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Haven't been able to get into any of these tracks. Don't really care though. Just happy that Matt is doing his thing.
