I've def been on the dark side of things for so long that it can alter my perspective. I think when I was in college too the rights and discourse of sex workers was just starting to get some more attention but I feel like I never rly full got educated on the topic so I appreciate ur post! I feel like I can tl;dr men ruin everything. But I'll ramble a bit. I def don't think u should be looked down on or jailed or anything like that for doing sex work. But for the men who purchase women's bodies like I have all the rage. But then without those men sex workers wouldn't get work so I guess it's a weird perspective to have. I def think there should be more protections for sex workers. I remember reading an article about webcam girls whose videos would get ripped and redistributed on porn sites and they'd see no money from it and it was super upsetting. It's an easy position to get taken advantage of so if there were more protections for the workers I'd prob feel less skeeved out.

It will always bother me that many sex workers come from oppressed groups like women or those in the lgbtq community. I think it's the underlying idea that men see my body as a commodity and something they can buy. I get the idea of using that to make $$$ but then at the end of the day like women's bodies are still up for sale and that makes me sad. We're still viewed as goods rather than humans and that bums me out. And I think as long as we have the notion that women are commodities, sex trafficking and those things will continue to flourish alongside consensual sex work. And that isn't the fault of the sex workers but like ugggh it is just so upsetting to me. Like when I read ur bj example I get where ur coming from but my brain is like THEN TAKE ALL THE BJS FROM ALL THE MEN THEY ARE NOT WORTHY which yeah won't happen so like I get it but also men are the worst.
