    I do not exist.

Beyond disappointing to read that both Allegri and Bonucci have stated that Kean was partly responsible to be on the receiving end of racism due to his goal celebration. I'm sorry but a goal celebration doesn't lead to racism. How can being racially abused ever be the fault of the person? What a joke.

    Quoting from this article.

Edit: according to Twitter the racist abuse was throughout the match, making these comments even more ridiculous.

This Bayern / Heidenheim match has been crazy... Bayern, playing down a man, take the lead 5-4 in the 82nd minute.

  5. What a strange journey it’s been

    Wild that it’s finally here

I know there’s some history of teams kinda having weird seasons when they open a new stadium but hopefully this can be a boon to close out the season strong so we’re playing here in the CL from group stage on next campaign

What a great match (objectively speaking). The red card was surely bullshit but it made for a hell of a ride. Bayern were great to turn a 1-2 into a 4-2 in like 10 minutes. But then Heidenheim never gave up and came back to go level. In the end Bayern advanced but Heidenheim deserves all the praise. They were fantastic today. I just love the cup games.

Seems Chicago Fire are becoming Chicago City Football Club and moving to Soldier Field.

Isn't this a step back? I thought the MLS wanted all football stadiums instead of American football stadiums?

No seriously, was a great match from what I saw even though I was hoping Heidenheim would pull the upset ;) I didn't happen to start watching until after the red card but I thought that was uncharacteristic of Sule to have done something worth a red card. I'll have to go find the clip.

As glad as I am Bayern really had to push themselves today, I'm definitely under no impression Dortmund will now have it any easier on Saturday. Just hoping for a good match and not another thrashing like last year.

I know MLS was at least requiring that some incoming clubs have a Soccer Specific Stadium lined up. Any indication that the move to Soldier Field would be permanent?

MLS had to reassess post Atlanta, I’d imagine.

Where the Fire play now is so inconvienent. It might be a step back if MLS wants every club to have their own stadium but I’ve never been to a match because getting there sucks. Being able to take the Red Line almost directly to the game can only boost attendance.

Biggest concern for me is the notoriously poor quality field at Soldier Field.

As someone else pointed out it seems like getting out of Bridgeview and getting downtown outweighs the negative of not having a SSS. From what I have read and heard is that it takes a crazy amount of time for people to get to that stadium. Solider Field has a greater access to public transportation than their current setup since its right downtown.

It wasn't Süles fault at all, Thiago played a bad back pass which led to this situation. And still it wasn't a red just because the Heidenheim player would never have reached the ball after he put it way too far in front of him.

Regarding your second paragraph, I really think any Dortmund fan can be glad about the way the game went tonight. Bayern had to play with 10 men for 75 minutes and maybe Süle is suspended on Saturday (I have heard different opinions on that one). The fact that Bayern had to play midweek is an advantage for BVB anyway but the way the game went today just played into their cards. But that said, I still think that we are slight favorites. If we lose then the league title is more or less gone. But any other result will keep it open and exciting.

Apparently Lyon are “reconsidering” Genesio’s extension after their loss to Rennes in the Coupe de France. I can’t believe they were ready to hand him a new contract before that.

I don’t buy the Mourinho rumors but they need a change.

PS I bought my first authentic kit, a 2018 home Fekir.

Chicago had to do what they're doing, rebrand included IMO.

The (small existing group of) fans will be upset about losing the Fire name, and I think Chicago City SC is lame as all get out, but that franchise is essentially dead and if you're gonna reboot you may as well go all in.

I was a bit nervous before the game but this went way better than I could have ever imagined. By far the best performance of the season so far for us. Aggressive and putting pressure on them from the first second on.

I'm no prophet so I don't like making predictions but I had a strong suspicion the match was going to unfold similar to this. Again, even after Bayern's midweek match, I knew they'd be dominate and make Dortmund's task very difficult .

And Weigl for Zagadou is hardly a certain sufficient replacement to turn the match around. Perhaps damage control is best at this point.

Wow, if you really knew how this game would unfold then we need to chat some more regarding the next lottery numbers ;)
But seriously, as I said before, I knew we were slight favorites but I think nobody would have imagined that Bayern would win this game 5-0. Especially our performance in the first half was absolutely world class. I think if we play like this then we can beat any team in Europe. Too bad we were too passive against Liverpool.
But now we are 1 point in front again and I think we will pull it through and secure the title. But we need to be focused on every game. It's really great that we have such a close title race again this year. After all these last years it's so refreshing.

Nah, I didn't know the exact outcome but that's different from expecting the general manner in which Bayern would win, which is what I was getting at. I was extremely confident that Bayern would be dominant and that Dortmund would struggle considerably. I don't know why that is such a surprising or unusual expectation to have, to be honest.

I certainly didn't have that expectation a few weeks ago but after seeing which Dortmund players would be unavailable for this match a couple days ago and then seeing the lineup before the match, I knew our midfield and defense were going to have it rough. Again, I never predict scorelines but I legitimately would have been surprised had Dortmund won today and if I were a bettin' man I would have put my money on Bayern (but of course not by 5 goals).

Bayern hasa great opportunity now. I think the largest obstacles relative to all their remaining opponents are both Leipzig and Frankfurt but we'll see. Dortmund will have to recover quickly if they don't want this match to have been the end of their title hopes.

Jean Michel Aulas is farcical at this point, telling Lyon fans they should be happy with 3rd in the league since we (he) can rake in that CL money. Meanwhile we have the 2nd highest budget and by far the best academy in France. Fekir and Memphis will jump ship at any moment.
