Netflix Surprise Releases Blumhouse Productions' 'Mercy Black'

 

Finally got around to watching Suspiria (2018) and that ending was intense.

 

This looks super fun

 

This sounds cool, have to check it out

 

The Dead Don't Die looks like Zombieland for Wes Anderson fans

There's a good chance it won't be my thing, but I know a lot of people who are very excited about it

 

You know, I was honestly trying to put my finger on what style that reminded me of and you nailed it.

 

The soundtrack is probably one of my all time faves in the genre, it’s totally invaluable to it.

 

The Dead Don't Die looks fun. That cast alone makes it worth watching, and Jarmusch deserves the benefit of the doubt.

 

It’s funny you mention that, It Follows is a movie I missed in theaters and last night is the first time I’ve seen it since getting a home theater system. Holy shit the low bass parts I’ve never noticed before are insane

 

Halloween 2 & 3 were added to Shudder today, so that makes the first 5 available on that app

 

It has one of the best scores in horror, especially in recent memory but really all time

 

All 4 Critters movies are on Vudu for free now, in case anyone else has been wanting to run that series again!

 

Gotta check out the sequels. Subscribed to Prime again today so it's TerrorVision and Ghoulies tonight

 

I bought the soundtrack on vinyl about a year ago and it's great to listen to on headphones while reading a horror book

 

Thats exactly what I thought. I love Shawn of the Dead but these comedy zombie movies are not my thing.

 

Wasn't Anna and the Apocalypse a zombie comedy? Did anyone manage to catch that?

 

It’s fun/enjoyable.

 

Fun fact, this was partially shot in my town. I didn't get to run into Bill anywhere sadly like I hoped, but that diner is the defunct West Taghkanic Diner just outside of Hudson. Some of the surrounding area was used as well I believe, like the cemetery and some other buildings.

Some people did get photos with some of the cast like Glover and others and had them posted on our local community board.

 

I did enjoy Zombieland, Warm Bodies, and Shaun of the Dead, but maybe only because they're also action/comedy(/romance?) in addition to just horror.

 

It just doesn't look like anything new to me, but hopefully the cast carries it. I think I just get annoyed with that whole subset of quirky Anderson-esque movies lol

been listening to In Voorhees We Trust and watching the movies along with is since I haven't seen most of them (I've only seen the original, VIII, X, and FvJ). Finished part 3 the other night and it might be my favorite of the series so far.

In that primer episode, their ratings for some of the mid-series entries, as well as the remake, were a lot higher than the opinion I had preconceived, so I'm excited to finally watch them

 

I tried one episode of last podcast on the left and it seemed so....bro-y. does it get less so at some point? Maybe I just don't care what men have to say idk the only podcasts I've listened to are from women

 

I don’t really like podcasts in general so maybe my opinion doesn’t mean much, but I didn’t care for what I’ve heard and didn’t really enjoy it live either (went with a friend that is a huge fan).
