This is so funny to me because on first listen of Slip the Noose I got reminded of Black a Butterflies just in terms of the beat of the song. Glad I’m not going crazy!

I like it more than I used to. Am i Pretty and My Hair used to drag down and otherwise good album for me. Still, I think we can agree that the stuff here is above it.

This is definitely AOTY for me so far, but I cant confidently rank this album between the others yet. Early standouts for me are tears wont cry, one sunset, and flowers on the grave. Overall this was my most anticipated release this year and I am very happy with how this turned out

  9. This album is definitely better than American Candy to me but I still like that album a lot. It's a great breezy pop-rock album that doesn't make you think too much. Am I Pretty and My Hair aren't the deepest songs in the world but they're both fun.

If America Candy is the fun, poppy, summer record, and LLL is the introspective, atmospheric concept, then this falls in the middle - a more anthemic rock n roll album.

American candy is such an amazing album. Deff my go-too summer album! LLL is a great nighttime album & this album is just so full of catchy/fun bops, great party album.

Would love to see them do an AC, LLL, YAO tour. Bangers front to back.

I need to listen to their pre-LLL stuff more tbh, I’ve given American Candy a couple of listens and I like it, but nothing’s grabbed me like the last two records. I actually enjoyed CSWS for what it is when I listened to it a couple months back, tho obviously it hasn’t aged particularly gracefully. I haven’t really listened to anything else in full tho.

I think the middle of the discography is incredibly boring and uninspired. I still love csws and dgaf ...still don’t of my favorite stuff by them

Their discography is weird for me in the sense that I pretty much either love or completely dislike their albums. I don't like CSWS, Pioneer, or American Candy whatsoever. I really enjoy both Black & White and Forever Halloween, and the last two are exceptional.

Black & White holds up for me. Some monster hooks on that record.

I saw them do this right when Pioneer came out. You’re in for a treat.

  22. I just drove around blasting YAOK while driving along the coast with the windows down singing along as loud as possible. It's a sunny day up here in Washington and this album cemented itself as something really special in that moment. So glad this band has kept going for so long.

I think pioneer, forever and b&w are all just whatever. Each might have a song or two but for the most part I think they are snoozes.

To say "Pioneer" is uninspired totally overlooks how it written. It was created as a backlash to what WB was doing to them. It was them being so angry at being told what to do that they rebelled and went off and chased every weird impulse. It's their most inspired album ever, probably
