Wow this album has so much going on it’s going to take a few more listens for me to process it all. Overall I think it’s incredible, I get the MCR comparisons on a few songs and whoever said it’s similar sounding to a lot of mid 00’s Emo Music was spot on.

I’m glad they decided to do something new as LLL was a masterpiece so anything remotely similar would have been unfairly compared.

‘I Feel It All Over’ blew me away on first listen. I can’t wait to spend more time with this for sure. The Maine are slowly becoming one of my favourite bands, even if I’ve not connected with some of their material as strangely as others.

I was thinking about getting the vinyl and book combo before it's gone... Has anyone gotten there's yet? Is the book worth it?

Also I never realized how hard it is to get this band's stuff on vinyl. They need to repress everything from Pioneer on, the prices on Discogs are insane!

Forever Halloween was a disappointing record (it’s half killer half filler for me) until the deluxe version came out. Songs like Bliss, Ugly On The Inside, and Ice Cave don’t really mesh with the record so I get why they were left off... but those three songs are better than almost any of the songs that made the cut.

Even for a band with zero bad albums, something has to be least favorite. Forever Halloween is that for me with The Maine. It’s still really great though.

  6. I agree, the deluxe version is what threw it over the top. But I also love the record without the b-sides. Agree to disagree!

For me that's B&W. Can't get through most of the tracks on that record. But I love everything else (well, maybe with the exception of the first EP). I think my tastes skew a little different from this site - I prefer the sound of YAOK, Pioneer, and FH to AC and LLL. I like when this band gets a little grittier, usually.

For those with deluxe, how are the orchestral versions of the songs?

Forever Halloween will probably always be my fav but I’ve also only become a fan of this band somewhat relatively recently so my opinions change with every discography binge.

With that in mind this is creeping it’s way to #1

Oh it was from rocksound. Let me see if it’s been reposted.

It’s still showing up on my friend‘s twitter but not the rocksound account. Quiet odd.

Well, since it was out there it’s from the live cd with the rocksound bundle. My friend was invited to come to a private show and then once she got there they played a show just for her.

I feel like that was their drug/trying a lil too hard record? Maybe that’s off, but I get it if that’s the case, haha. Regardless it led them into their greatest records.

Not their best. Not their worst... that's about all I can say about this album. Not a lot of repeat listening worth so far. Can make a great EP, but as a whole completely forgettable. Terrible follow up to LLL which was/is by far their best.

Have you not listened to Black and White? I can't remember a single song from that album to save my life, even listening to it again.

if these guys were releasing just pretty good albums infrequently i'd already feel like i don't deserve it

i *definitely* don't deserve fucking masterpieces from this band every couple years

I can't believe the same band that wrote My Hair wrote Slip the Noose. This is their biggest accomplishment. Just so massive.
