Thanks. If it is real it’s really weird they’d release it in a poster. That doesn’t seem right to me unless they were planning on showing the poster AFTER the trailer which that character would appear in. That doesn’t sound likely either.

For everybody: is it something you wish you hadn’t known going into the movie or is it not that big of a deal?

 

It's not that big of a deal for me and I plan on avoiding most spoilers for this movie.

All kidding aside, I don't really understand what the spoiler is, and I think I looked at the poster... Unless I saw the wrong thing.

 

I have no regrets looking at the poster, but I usually check out everything except the late tv spots.

 

Damn I’m in a pickle lol if it’s going to be released at celebration it’s not really a big deal is it...plus even if I don’t want to see it there’s no way to avoid a poster for 8 months.

Is it just a collage poster with all the characters? No settings given away or nuffin? What about new character designs/outfits?

Lol I’m making way too big a deal out of this I know. It’s who I am though...

 

It does give away new costumes for characters. I don't think it gives away any settings.

This bummed me out too, but I'd take it with a grain of salt. There's also no Lando, Leia, Ghost Luke, R2, or Hux

 

Rewatching all the films before Celebration and finally made it to the Sequrl Trilogy and it’s basically a seemless journey thematically speaking of these characters from Force Awakens to Last Jedi. Rey is still not willing to fully embrace her destiny as a hero, Finn learns to fight for more than just his friend, and Kylo is dealing with the weight of his legacy after trying to live up to it. It takes all the themes of TFA and just builds on them. What did each character learn in the first one, and coming out of that what else do they need to learn or what’s the next step? I think the focus on themes and arcs is one of my favorite things about this new trilogy. Not to say the previous films didn’t have them, but that really seems to have been a focal point going into these that wasn’t as strong/cohesive previously.

 

I sought it out but knowing it could possibly ruin something i was not mad that i peeked

 

I've been depriving myself of rewatches for all the movies until I do a full marathon before IX. Probably won't watch any of them again until at least November unless I crack

 

One of my film teachers had a class dedicated to TFA recently and spent the class going over the first 10 mins of the film and the camera movements Abrams made. Good stuff.

It’s really not a big deal at all. As far as new characters go you just see a couple of outfits. The biggest holy shit part to me wasn’t a new character at all and it got me stoked as hell. Also it’s technically not a poster intended for public promotion based on what I’ve read in articles. More like for promo for merchandising and licensing from what I understand. If I was you I’d just look. Really not a big deal at all.

 

If the poster is even real, there is a spoiler, but its so awesome you wont even care. Thats my take.
