My thing is...from September on, he was not a top closer. He was a heart attack. So I'm not super excited to commit long term, big money there. That being said, the Sox bullpen sucks so may as well haha

    music and baseball.

Sept/Oct was arguably his best "month" in the regular season. I think people are putting too much into his postseasons struggles. Its like how they used to do with Price. It was only 10 innings worth of work. Not much of a sample size. Saying its a "GIANT red flag" is too much.

Yeah...i may be overreacting. Whatever Eovaldi is still the best reliever ever.

Yeah the list of people who excel in postseason is WAY shorter than people who have struggled lol. You're paying people for 162 games to get you there and hope for the best if you do get there

Unfortunately not, and unfortunately my first game may not be until May for the Rockies series. Are you heading down this week ? I can't remember the last time I was this excited for opening day.

  8. Stoked for the season. I'll try to spend a little more time in here but this forum moves so quickly! haha. I think we're gonna try to go to a game this weekend for kids run the bases. It'll be my son's (3) first time doing anything like that so it should be fun!

I'll be at the game on Saturday. Forecast is saying 72, so I'm amped about that too haha.

Yeah there wasn't much to be excited about the last 7 years. I feel like we have a ton of potential this year - hope to be playing into October.

It's weird, even when they were in it last year I wasn't excited about the team. Like I'm not sure why, maybe it was I thought the team was boring outside of Hoskins and Nola. I'm stoked to see Pavieta this year though.

Yeah I totally feel ya. Back in the golden days, all of the players had huge personalities, so even though they were awesome on the field, I felt connected to them. Haven't had that feeling since 2010.

I feel like this is the year that all turns around.

Even when the team sucked in the late 90's and early 2000's they had personality.

Since tomorrow is opening day, do you guys have any fond from over the years at games ? I remember being a kid watching Kevin Millwood toss his no hitter at the vet in person. It was probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in person.

That's awesome man. I've never seen a no hitter in person. Seen a few walkoffs at Citizens Bank which are always fun.

As far as the Vet goes, I have 2 distinct memories that come to mind. Last NFL game I went to there was when the Eagles beat the Falcons in the playoffs in 2003. Also witnessed one grown man pee on another grown man in the bathroom when I was about 8 years old. Never forget.

  19. I saw both Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire hit home runs in one game at Busch Stadium in 1998. That was a wild time in baseball.

Main thing I remember is every opening day my dad would come and get me out of school after attendance was taken and we'd go to the Rangers game.
