yeah, my parents have never mentioned or come anywhere close to having anything resembling "the talk" with me. the only time bees are mentioned is when i say i'm allergic.

i remember in high school i was at a girl friend's house (freshmen year) and there was a real bad snow storm and her parents were stuck at work and i didn't want to walk home and my mom couldn't come get me so we arranged that it was okay to let me sleep over at her house. the moms were fine, her dad was furious though. the solution? i slept in her walk-in closet and she locked me in with a master lock. we even had her dad on AIM (remember that technology, fellow old people?) watching as i entered the closet and the door was locked. i mean, yeah, we could have fooled around / let me out and put me back before they got home, but i was a (pretty) good teenager and stayed put / fell asleep.

didn't earn me any brownie points with him though. the bastard.

Moms can be like that too. My mom never liked me talking to guys because she thinks they're all bad I guess. If she was picking me up from school and I was chatting with a guy that wasn't a teammate shed be like "who was he?" like one time after basketball practice freshman year this guy was picking up his sister who was on my team and because I was leaving the gym he asked if he was still there/where she was. My mom saw and got mad, and I'm like chill (I didnt really say chill) he was asking where my teammate was, then she's all something like was that her brother... ugh. But she got her wish because guys don't like me/talk to me anyhow

 

This is such a condescending post. People who think and act like you describe exist and yes, they suck. I'm not sure where along the way they came to represent everyone who has ever felt unrequited romantic feelings from within a close friendship. That's real and doesn't necessitate the rejectee feeling entitled to sex/feelings because friendship.

To re-read his post and think all that was implied really depends on a predisposition to thinking "male who wants romance with his friend = 'nice guy' meme creep."

 

There is a healthy way to process and there is one that is more rooted in sexist norms. It seemed to be the latter to me. I don't care how it came off. Either way, I'm finished with this discussion.

 

My Gf's parents in high school would let us go into her room and close the door. We were fucking set, haha. Could not believe they let us do that. And they'd always knock. 'Cept for once.

 

Yeah, my parents did too. Never though anything of it. She slept over as well. In college, she would stay at my house in between semesters (she lived on campus). Parents would cook for her and everything. I've always had a TV in my bedroom so we'd always go up there to watch TV/movie.

 

Yep, that was always the cover, hahah. "We're gonna go watch like, 8 movies, don't bother us"

 

I mean, it's better they know you're in the house then who knows where.

My parents still won't let a guy in my room with the door shut. I lost my virginity in the backseat of my Jeep Liberty and it's all my parents fault.

 

Makes for a better story than just a boring bedroom.

We should all tell stories of times we got caught. Those are always good.

One time I was at a popular park in town, and we were on the trails, ummm, "hooking up". We were in the middle of the trail behind this park and I was pretty into it, and glanced up to see around 10 middle aged woman jogged right at us. I like, tapped her to get her attention, but it was too late. I just stood there with my jeans around my ankles, and she didn't even stand up, they just ran around us and I waved

 

That would have made that story the greatest one ever told haha

 

I understand the excitement of doing it in a semi-public place but why didn't you just do it in your hotel room? Utility closet just doesn't seem to sexy.



Anyway... I did it in a classroom in college. That's the most risque I think I ever got.
