  1. Considering the god-awful name and how it just really seems to be capitalising on mental illness as a selling point, there had fucking well better be.

I get why people would not be into Emo Nite, but I personally have had a really good experience and made several friends because of the one in Portland.

If I remember correctly, you said Halogens we’re buddies with him at their release show too, right?

  4. Again, I just want to be very clear about this: my beef is with Emo Nite IN Los Angeles specifically

Not this thread reviving old scene hair photos. Scene hair was my weakness as a teen and now I CRINGE at the thought omg. I wanted a scene boy sooooo bad lmao. Fittingly to this thread they were all into like middle schoolers tho who idolized them and now one has been in prison forever for statutory rape. Creeps just like their faves. Who knew toxicity in the scene would lead to men and boys thinking this stuff was okay?? If only we could've known!!!! Somehow!

I went to an emo night once and they played party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. It was pretty trash

I have no idea if they’re buddies, but I do know they played the Halogens release show which was incredibly disappointing to me

I did emo nite Brooklyn, fun night out with some friends from college. Not something I would seek out but I’d go again.

So are Forever the Sickest Kids like back for good now? Because those guys are definitely the hook up with 14-year-olds kind of creepy. I feel like I'm constantly maintaining a ridiculously long list of shows that I won't allow any teenager in my life near.

A local girl was so obsessed with Caleb from ftsk and I remember she like kept in touch with him enough to go out on a date when he came back in town. The thing was she was like 15 or 16. She lied to him and told him she was 18 and going to college. They stayed in touch for years and she had to keep the lie up for so long.
At least, that’s what I thought back then. Now I’m like, he probably knew she was lying and just didn’t care at all.

Two guys from this band aggressively hit on my friend and I when we were 15 and then she hooked up with one of them. Looking back at pictures of us from when we were 15, there is zero chance they could've not realized how young she was. Definitely a yikes memory but somehow only one of many from that era of music.

Edit: Just looked up the date of this show and I got it wrong. I was 13, my friend was 14. This wasn't even the first show this happened at with pop-punk dudes. Ick.

Welp, the people who played the end credits song of the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid movie are pedos, this thread is full of revelations.

Oh shit, my band played with Keep Flying a year and a half ago or so, had no idea that was this dude. They're singer is a sweetheart but now knowing who JJR is I know to avoid them. I KNEW he looked familiar.

emo nite mtl is weird because it's more just a bunch of late 20 yos listening to classic scene cuts vs being noticed, but it seems they have issues every couple of months re: security being handsy w/ drunk women, not keeping an eye on older dudes creeping on younger/very wasted women, or like a few months ago something went down where like some guy from our hometown who did time for abusing a women(s?) was at the bar during one of their events and the venue + orgs basically told my friend if they wanted him out, he'd need to call the cops. Most of these issues have to do with the venues/security, but I guess you are the company you keep?

anyways I'm practically certain someone in that scene will message me about this bc I post with my rea name so I'm careful with what I'm saying, but it's always been a fun event with some strange sketchy overtones. fun if you go with a good crowd of friends and you keep a vigilant eye for sketchy dudes being scummy. I always get a kick of the photogs taking those stereotypical club pics everywhere though haha

Is "Sad and Boujee" a think where you all are? Like emo night but with some rap as well. Wouldn't be caught dead at either honestly, but that seems objectively worse.

    Let it run Supporter

idk anything about the problematic nature of the venue/promoters or whatever but I've accidentally found myself at one after a Brand New concert last year and I was drunk and it was fun as hell. I can see garbage people showing up but garbage people go everywhere in Philly
