Anyone else in here ever heard of Charles Wesley Godwin?

 

Been spending a lot of time with this Lauren Jenkins album this week.

 

I just sat down with it yesterday. My first thought was "this is great." My second thought was "has Craig heard it?"

Lots of debate this week about whether this song belongs on country radio/the country charts, and...welp.

 

If they allow Florida Georgia Line to chart, I see no reason to not allow this to chart as well

Eh I don't care enough about this to engage any further haha. I think it's safe to say it's not gonna make any songs of the year lists for folks in this thread, let's just agree on that and move on

 

Actually, I don't really care if it stays on the charts either, because they are just generally terrible. I just think it's more immediately identifiable to 2-3 other genres than to country, which isn't really the case with Florida Georgia Line or any of the other mainstream country punching bags. I'd rather have that slot go to a different artist, preferably a woman.

 

My fiancée and I saw Dierks/Jon Pardi/Tenille Townes last night.

I couldn’t believe how energetic the crowd was. Dierks seemed really surprised, he commented on it multiple times throughout his set. I’ve been a fan of his since the first time I heard What Was I Thinking and last night hearing how much he appreciates the fans solidified it even more.

Tenille Townes was really good. Her set was short but impactful. My fiancée said she really likes her voice.

The crowd stood up for Jon Pardi. When he played his hits, the crowd loved it. The last three songs of his set was quite a party (sorry for the terrible pun)

 

I’m still hoping the Tenille Townes LP will be good. (If it ever fucking comes out.)
