I guess sometimes when a player is on a rival you tend just not to like him I guess. When Emmit Smith finally left Dallas I had even more appreciation for him.

I'm having a hard time thinking of players on rival teams that I hate just because they're on a rival team. Usually they have to actually be a dick in order for me to not them like personally.

I think OBJ is just passionate and sometimes he doesn't handle that passion the way most might agree with but its not like hes out there getting arrested or getting a DUI or something

I'm just glad that he and Thomas are in the AFC now.

like God damn I am still salty about the Landry/OBJ reunion

that was supposed to happen in Miami :verysad:

I still think OBJ is the best receiver I've seen since Moss.

Dude was on a Hall of Fame level pace with stats with Eli "Glue Tastes Great!" Manning.

I haaaaaaated Derek Jeter and Mariana Rivera when they were with the Yankees. Not because they were bad guys but because they were the definition of the New York Yankees to me. But they retire and your tip your cap and say thanks for the fun rivalry and move on.

This was the exact way I felt about Chipper Jones.

Yeah. I don't see this as any reason to not still address the position in the draft. Hopefully he can stay healthy and find better success with a real QB.

I heard a couple rumors/stories this morning on local radio, so take it with a grain of salt:

    - We're in deep research and it's a good possibility we sign Eric Berry. I'm not too thrilled with bringing him in unless it's for cheap.

    - They're looking into bringing Tate in which sounds cool

    - The rumors of Sean Payton being coach here has been going on for over a decade since he was here before the Saints and because he lives in Dallas and has said he's not moving away ever, but the difference now is that apparently wording in his most recent contract is that if the ownership changes, which it did last year when the owner passed away, there's a clause that he can leave at any time. So I guess it's much easier for him to just peace out whenever Brees is done.

I'd be curious to see how Peyton does with a different team and without Bress.

Imagine what the last 15 years would have been like across the NFL if Payton got Romo in New Orleans like he wanted before being denied and moving on to Brees.

I doubt it since that Super Bowl was fueled by an illegal bounty program.

Same hypothetical, but Brees to Miami instead of Culpepper

I'm pretty sure I've read before that it literally was supposed to be Miami where Brees went and then Payton swooped in and got him somehow.

Damn, the AFC East would have been way more entertaining with that.

no, Brees told the Dolphins he wanted to sign in Miami. Saban decided he didn't want to sign Brees because the Miami team doctors were worried about his shoulder

mind you, the supposed best shoulder doc in the country (who performed the surgery) told them Brees would be totally fine

lets also not forget that the Dolphins decided not to draft Brees initially because Wannstedt is a fucking putz and was "worried it would send the wrong message to the veterans on the team"

    The rivalry is back on

100% my feeling on Touchdown Tom, except the part where Brady is a zombie who will never retire and will just haunt me and the rest of the NFL forever

That whole 2009 season was a hell of a time. We went 11-5 to win the division, beat the 13-0 Saints in their stadium, beat the Eagles three times and the last two were back to back to send them packing in the playoffs, and then our offensive line/Romo got obliterated and embarrassed by Favre and the Vikings. I was pulling for the Vikings to go all the way that year. Such a shame they didn't.
