I'm hoping the same. The interview that Chris did a month or so back said it was a full tour, so they might just be promoting this one first and then announcing the rest - Like the TSSF/Turnover/Citizen tour with their LA date.

I don't think Hawthorne will ever stop touring honestly. I just wish they stopped the album tours. They've been pretty consistent on their full lengths just the casual fan only cares about the first 2 so they keep doing those to pay the bills.

John // OC now, OH forever.

Probably already covered, but Smoking Popes are playing 5/10 and 5/11 at Bottom Lounge in Chicago. Support on 5/10 is Flatfoot 56, The Sidekicks, and Sincere Engineer while 5/11 is Direct Hit, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, and War On Women.

$22 per show, $44 for a two day pass.

It'll be real interesting to see who hangs it up first in a post-Warped scene between Hawthorne Heights and We The Kings.

i've seen a few HH shows over the past half-decade and not a soul has cared about a song off the first two albums

We the kings for sure, they don't seem to have the self esteem to endure some of the brutal turnouts Hawthorne heights have endured over the years. We the kings also piggybacks off warped much more than Hawthorne heights ever did

What’d the worst turnout you’ve seen for an HH show? That’s easily why WTK doesn’t your outside of Warped.

i almost went to that show lol

it's just kind of wild, like silverstein were a similar band in 04-05 and they've done a 10 and 15 year tour for when broken is easily fixed and a 10 year for discovering the waterfront but they can get away with it because they've constantly evolved and pushed the music forward

i think there's some good HH stuff in the later discography buuut overall it's night and day

Are Chunk! No Captain Chunk! still a band? I feel like I haven't heard from them since Warped 2016, which is pretty sad considering they're probably the only fun band left in this scene. I'd love to see them tour again.

You're right, Silverstein is one of the few bands from that era that's still working their asses off and staying up to date with the scene today. In fact they more or less sustained popularity past all the newer metalcore bands that came after them (blessthefall, TWA, MMI etc.) and started to fade.

I'm not sure why Hawthorne Heights gets lumped in on Warped Tour scene bands that will break up post-Warped. They've only played like 4 times in 15 years. Why do people think Warped was the only tours they were getting on?

Blessthefall is doing better than a lot of bands from their era though, music wise I feel like they were always a step above most bands they got lumped in with and they’re playing smaller venues than they used to, but they still have pretty decent turnouts most of the time, though they also are usually good at putting together solid tour packages for their headliners

They're good musically, but I doubt they could still headline House Of Blueses & such.

I've been wondering this about a few bands recently (My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy). Probably because they reached peak notoriety around the same time as Warped Tour -- and played a similar style of music as the bands who were on Warped Tour around that time.

But still. I'm just surprised there's a substantial number of people who would get psyched for a Hawthorne Heights album play. I kind of always assumed that most of their fans just want to see the 2-3 radio songs anyway. But that thought was wrong, I guess.

Yeah like, I get it they aren't as big as they used to be but it's not like We The Kings where they've been playing Warped every 2 years like clockwork. They book their own tours, they're clearly okay being main support given the Silverstein tour and their full lengths have been pretty consistent. I don't think they'll be hanging it up anytime soon and even if they did, I don't think it would have anything to do with Warped being over.

Wasn’t there a time where they would draw like 30 people?

I wouldn’t say doing better. They are doing a headliner with 4 opening bands and charging $16/ticket. That’s a pretty slim margin.

I have a feeling the rest of the tour will be announced after JM’s show in Anaheim next week
