whoa that's cool. from what I could piece together with google translate, frontman was drunk in summer 2018, got nostalgic and called the others for the first time in a while. not sure if it is a one off show, but it said "regarding future activities, check twitter, homepage etc." sounds like there are more plans...

 

The new One Ok Rock album is pretty anthemic.

 

ive been trying to keep up with japanese music more closely this year. really loved aaamyyy's album and frasco has put out a couple of really good singles.

 

I love this song.

dont mean to perptuate a meme but as much as i like the sound of city pop nothing has ever really impressed me much since i heard "plastic love", honestly that song does every single thing so perfectly that nothing matches up to it. i was looking into buying that light in the attic release though, anyone know if light in thr attic charges upon ordering or shipment?

I found this. Whoever is behind this updates it regularly. Based on the different sub-genres I’m hearing when I skip through this, I’d say it’s very comprehensive. Lots of good stuff. The best Hip Hop currently being made in Japan in my opinion is either very danceable or glitchy.

 

Thanks! I'm getting back into Japanese music, catching up with releases I missed from bands I fell in love with a few years back like Ling Tosite Sigure, TAMTAM, Maison Book Girl, Wednesday Campanella, Haruka To Miyuki, etc. so this playlist is going to be useful.

 

If you search for the Spotify Japan account on Spotify you’ll find a lot of lists they made too, but most descriptions are in Japanese so with many I’m not sure what exactly they all are.
