That's one of the things that keeps coming up in conversation re: Rickon and the zig-zags. In the books, this scene would've taken place when he's six or so. I think they aged all the kids up three years for the show, so that makes him nine. But the actor is 14? I believe a 6 or 9 year old not zig-zagging, but given that we have a young teenager in looks it switches from believable to ridiculous.

Euron doesn't seem like much of a threat right now. The build for him should have started much sooner if he is going to be the bringer of the apocalypse.

Zig-zags take more time and effort to film. They could've set the shots up in the same way but a long shot of a dufus running zig-zags would've been too awkward not to giggle at and that'd take away from the actual point of the shot.

I would have lol'd if we got a quick scene of Davos telling himself "he needs to move around more!" or making some zig zag gestures in Rickon's direction.

Honestly that would be a fun game to play, but with arrows that wont kill you.

  11. It'd be fun to do with one of those 3-person water balloon sling-shots.

I don't know if this has been answered, but she didn't know if the Knights of the Vale would march North to fight for her. When Littlefinger left her with the knowledge that she should contact the Blackfish, he didn't mention I don't think that the Arryn boy gave him command of the Knights of the Vale. So she could hope that Littlefinger would march North to meet them, but she wouldn't know for sure.

Right, I don't think she received a letter back from Little Finger saying, "I got you girl, no worries".

Also, he's a fucking kid who has been on the run and in hiding most of his life. I doubt anyone taught him that in the event of a madman trying to shoot you down with an arrow that you should run in a zig-zag formation.

she knows he's the acting protector of the vale tho and has control over robin.

Yeah but she also knows that Littlefinger basically sold her off to the Boltons when he was fully aware of Ramsay's depravity. And the last piece of advice he gave her turned out to not work either since the Blackfish was too stubborn to ride North for Winterfell. So you could understand her not being very trusting in Littlefinger or believing that he would actually come to her aide.

L: "i rode north with the knights of the vale. theyre encamped at moat cailin as we speak."

S: "to come to my aid"

Then she basically tells him she's all set and has an army but my suspicion is she actually wrote two letters. one to blackfish and one to littlefinger.

  19. While I was almost certain that it would be the KOTV riding in to save the day, I had some hope left that Edmure would arrive with Brienne and the Tully forces that just left Riverrun.

even with this shows wonky timelines and travel length, i dont think they could have passed that off. the vale only makes sense because we knew they were already at the edge of the north as of episode 5

It could have been many arrows, not just one person shooting. And then it wouldn't matter how he ran.

Call me an optimistic dork but I was hoping newly raised from the dead Jon Snow would go super sayian at the death of his brother. If Daenerys can rise from the ashes..

  23. True. Also, I just realized I'm not exactly sure what is happening to Edmure. I know Jaime originally offered him "gentle imprisonment" with his wife and son in Casterly Rock, where his son could be raised, educated, trained, and given an inheritance as part of the deal. But Edmure rejected this, initially. I'm not sure if it was still on the table when Jaime's ultimatum was given.

edmure's son will probably be fostered at casterly rock a la theon at winterfell while edmure resides elsewhere, since the frey's now hold riverrun i guess. i wonder if they'll get the twins? or maybe the vale+north will soon oust the frey's and return it to edmure...
