It is one of those 360 games that received an Xbox One X enhanced version via backwards compatibility, featuring better performance, a 9x resolution boost, newly rendered cutscenes and so on:

    Final Fantasy 13 on Xbox One X is a back-compat masterpiece • Eurogamer.net

So basically what you’re asking has happened, but as an Xbox One X exclusive.

“The recent arrival of Final Fantasy 13 on Xbox One is a simply brilliant addition to the backwards compatible library. And for X owners at least, the transformation is astonishing: what was originally the least preferable version of the game is now by far and away the best way to play it. Better still, it also sees Microsoft going the extra mile to bring an enhanced experience to users, to the point where the line blurs significantly between backwards compatibility and a bespoke remastering effort.”

Some of the enhanced 360 games look like current games on the ONE X. It’s amazing.

    Yeah it’s pretty wild

I feel like for now they went this way because it’s weird code (heard that often over the years) and upscaled emulation was easier than porting

With how popular the Switch is porting isn't going away any time soon

Switch is getting all the FF games recently, I wouldn't rule out FFXII just yet

I would love FF13 on the switch it's the only one I have never touched

  12. I think XIII-2 is actually much better, but I’d take XIII over the majority of the other games in the series, honestly.

13 is still one of my all time favorite games.

I didn’t mention any because the list is so huge but yes, Gears of War 3 looks great enhanced.

  15. Can you name your top 3? Just curious! I haven’t done a big deep dive into BC stuff yet

FFXIII gets more hate than it deserves but it really was painfully linear

I felt it being linear works in its favor. It's strange for the series but there is nothing wrong with a linear game when it's done well. You were constantly seeing new areas and moving the story forward.

it definitely gained a cinematic quality that most of the other FF titles lacked but i remember seeing that there was like three discs to the game on 360 and being like “THERE WILL BE SO MUCH TO GET LOST IN” and it just wasn’t there. id like to revisit it now, though. in general i prioritize exploration over anything else in games so this take is very biased that way

So preload on ps4 started for the division 2 and I can confirm the download is 90gb

I honestly still don’t understand why it’s that huge.

I don’t think any one dose. They never came out and said why. Unless there’s a huge day one patch that they are including in the preload on top of the other 2gb title update 1.05

Edit: it is a day one patch on top of the title update but what’s included hasn’t been said yet other then bug fixes from the beta

This just makes it 100% more real, and not nostalgia! The first Crackdown was suuuuch a great game. I remember vividly how happy I was to be playing a true MS published GTA like. So sad now....

The original Crackdown is a fantastic game and it honestly was a great reason to own a 360.
