I have to stop coming to this thread cause I get upset each time somebody says that anything from their catalogue sucks haha ;d ..anyway, that split EP with Prawna is in fact brilliant, I also adore Prawn's side as much as I could, it's flawless!

I love all their releases for different reasons but I admit I listen to Pneuma and the self titled most

Edit: and the split is amazing too i hope we get some new tunes this year

I can't seem to get into anything before the self-titled. That being said, the self-titled is a top 5 record for me and I consistently come back to the split.

It's odd. I feel like Pneuma does what the self-titled does, but with a little more youth and atmospherics. Songs like 8105, Grow On, Grow Up, Grow Out and Ode are all songs I feel any self-titled fan would enjoy

The songs that were re-recorded for "New Light" might fit well with S/T material, but I think it was a vastly different sound. "Pneuma" had more angst in it, and S/T was mostly really soothing. I love both of course, I was always always disappointed after each step they took, citing that they didn't do this or that from the previous material, but then I'd quickly get used to it, and like it even more.

Not even New Light? Which is basically self titled versions of old songs.

Oh damn I forgot about New Light. I don't like the Pneuma songs on that but I love the new versions of the Waves songs haha

As many people here know, for many many many years I considered Pneuma this band's masterwork and spoke about it in rarefied air as one of my 2-3 favorite records ever. I'm ready to officially say the S/T is their magnum opus. That record is perfect in every conceivable way.

I think this band has by far my favorite discography of any band to ever come out of this genre, so if they never made another record I would be content with that.

They are also, for now, the only band I own every single release on vinyl for.

I love everything in the MovMou catalogue except the Self Titled. Have tried to return to it numerous times but cannot get into it for the life of me.

Did they release that split with moneen on some physical formats as well? I'd agree with you @Craig Ismaili, but imagine how great it would be to have yet another LP ;D

I'm fairly certain that was Soundcloud only. I don't think it's even on streaming services.

Too bad. I don't how about other services, but it is on Spotify - that's where I actually have found it by accident, you have to get all the way down to 'appears on' section ;))

I will never understand the love the selftitled album gets, nothing there really interests me or sounds that interesting or unique or good. The vocals are so, so bad. I'll never understand the hate Waves gets either, I get the generic complaint but I think it does that sound better than most, if not all, of the bands it gets compared to. Something in me must be defective. I'm ok with that.

Come on man. The vocals are literally the same. Listen to how Greg sings during the soft parts of Waves and that's exactly how he sounds on the self-titled, but a little more in control of his voice. The Cascade could have easily fit on the self-titled album tbh

Also we don't talk enough about the lyrics Greg pens. Holy shit what a great poet. He's written some of my favorite lines of all time

im putting this in spoilers because

the vocals on waves during the heavy/faster are MUCH MUCH worse than self titled. like he genuinely cannot sing the way he tries to on waves. he can't keep up with the pace of the band. like the first song is genuinely embarrassing to listen to for me because of his vocals.

oh yeah 100%. if he could actually sing on that record it wouldn't be so bad.
that's why the songs were better when i saw them live, they weren't brought down by the voice

@SpyKi S/T is just so soothing :)) to me Greg sounds like he struggles with getting his voice right pretty often, both on S/T and "Waves", but that being said, to me it's what really makes it great. I don't need perfect vocals, he sounds just fine.

He's one of my favorite lyricists too. Agreed that he doesn't get enough credit on that point.

But yeah, his vocals on s/t are by a pretty long shot the best he'd done til that point. So good
