Don't think it reads as well as I thought it, but basically we all look at him (and himself included) as the guy who would just keep fighting for the sake of fighting. If he had been a champion, or hadn't consistently lost, he wouldn't be "that guy" to us or himself, cause he'd be a lot smarter and pickier about his fights.

Conor twitter agreeing to a fight and then the fight not happening isn't that big of a deal in my eyes. I feel like it honestly happens like, every week or night after a UFC card. Half of them never happen. It's just a bigger deal now cause it's Conor, and I see Don saying what he said just as a means to bait Conor into the fight he wants. Cerrone has a lot more to gain beating Conor than vice versa.

I don't really think it's wrong to say Conor is better than a shit ton of current featherweights and lightweights. You kinda need that confidence for this sport. Lest we not forget he was the first 2 division champ, was on a 15 fight win streak from Cage Warriors into the UFC, and barely anyone made it past the 2nd round with him. From 2011-2015, one guy saw the third round with Conor and that was Max Holloway. His first lossafter that, which was a huge risk for him jumping up two weight divisions on short notice, was with Nate. He then came back to that weight a few months later and rectified that loss.

Conor has been a total shitbag the past year and a half, and I still wish the Mayweather fight hadn't happened, but alas here we are and Conor is a superstar. He didn't just get there from beefing with Khabib and throwing a dolly at a bus. There was a real showman dominating the cage before the soap opera began.

I definitely agree with you on this. You can easily say certain people aren't the type to change who they are due to success but the fact is, everyone does and Cowboy would be exactly the same except he jumps into any and every fight he can which ultimately ends up in the occasional (or frequent) L.

Like as an example my friends, Tony turned down his interim title match cause he felt he's at a point in his career where he deserves better. This ain't no dun differnt.

All good. I like watching Conor fight, I hate the smoke and mirrors it takes to get us there. :verysad:

I'm going to Wichita for the fights this weekend. I'm probably just spoiled from how stacked my first live event was (Gathje vs Vick) but I'm kinda feeling a bit underwhelmed in comparison. I'm sure that will change come Saturday though.

Absolutely agreed, and that’s why I wish the Mayweather fight didn’t happen.

So Brian loses once at featherweight/ever, and he’s leaving the division to move up in weight? Interesting, and not what I expected next for him at all. Lightweight division is looking stacked while the few good featherweights left all wait for Max to retire haha.

Zabit is a giant but he is somehow still only a featherweight!

Damn you’re totally fucking right. For whatever reason I thought he was fighting at lightweight (I think because I’m thinking of his last fight with Stephens, who was a lightweight for some time) and I completely forgot he had moved down.

Seems like UFC may be moving away from West Coast time. Though, I could see this being an ESPN thing. Next 4 Non-PPV shows start at 8pm EST.

SO many good fights falling into place, and most of them not even championship fights.

Also didn't take the moment to express my frustration with Souza being forced to fight Romero and still not being offered even an interim title shot. I think Dana might be hoping Romero shuts him down so they have reason to keep not giving him one. They know he's not a marketable/shit talking champ.
