I’m sure if Brown was this huge of a pain in the ass with Big Ben throwing to him and Tomlin coaching him, he will certainly be a peach when Gruden is his coach and Billie Joe Armstrong missing him by 2 feet.

 

We’ll see what the contract is, but I think Foles is going to command enough guaranteed over a long term period that picking a QB in the draft now wouldn’t make much sense.

If great players like him who restructure like that continue their quality level of play until the end of the contract or until there's no dead money to cut them, then it works out fantastically for the team.

Where it sucks is when it happens to someone like Romo who restructured multiple times to help the team at the time but then got hurt over and over and his dead money is just now starting to come off the books.

 

Yessss Raiders give me that 1st round pick so the Steelers can miss on a CB.

Never has with Joe Banner or Howie at the helm. They know how to manipulate the cap well and to do so in a manner where it doesn't cripple them later. They sure are making a lot of cap space though which is....intriguing.

Especially considering how it's been said they want comp picks in 2020 for all of the free agents that are leaving this year. Perhaps a trade for a high dollar guy since those don't count against the comp formula?

We have a great defense!! But while that gives us a cushion, I don’t really see us as a win now team. Our OTs are very shaky, our interior line & our primary weapon at RB keep getting hurt, and we have no WR1s, no one as good as Jeffery or Tate (or Ertz!)

Foles definitely has less help and more pressure on him in this offense.

 

I agree 100%. If they were to sign Foles, you've got to give him some weapons.

 

I don’t, but doesn’t he have a pretty big cap hold this year regardless?
