I'd stick with my team unless it was a bad situation. Like if I were Wentz I'd accept the most team friendly deal in NFL history. Fuck 30 million, I'll take 5 and a successfull team.

not really. I’m more disappointed in the dodgers for their current thought process on free agents in general.

Nah I’d be a huge dick. I’m going to the city with the nicest weather who offers me the most money. And that damn sure wouldn’t be Pittsburgh

See I use to have that mind set, until I realized if I was ever in that position I'd probably wouldn't leave the money on the table. Actually, I think the only scenario I'd leave the money on the table is if Jerry Jones offered me a job

Did anyone read the article? Dorsey said Duke's not available unless they get a great offer. I'm guessing he won't be available since Hunt will probably get a big suspension.

Wentz could buy North Dakota for 2.5 million. Why would i need 10m? Haha.

But also fuck the owners so gimme money and ill just donate it.

    Nope. Supporter

Obviously i'll never be in this situation so it's impossible to say for sure, but for me personally I would think i'd rather take less (without it being insulting) to stick around on a successful team because I haaaaaaaaaaate losing and would push for endorsements and stuff to make up for any money i'd be "losing"

Oh i mean in my life yeah fuck yeah im maximizing my earning potential. The difference between 35k and 45k is huge. 10 million and 20? Not nearly as much

Oh I completely agree with this, I'm not sure in what world they thought they would be able to land him on a short term deal.

I guess they wanted to use the thought process of sign for a good deal now and re-sign for an absurd deal later but he wanted the cash now which makes sense.

    The rivalry is back on

Ha this is such a weird concept to think of whether your non-sports job is a “team friendly contract”

    i agree with this.

when players are holding out for like an extra 1.5M (i.e. 20M vs 18.5M) i'm like "come on now". there is a line in the sand when it comes to money and taking less, and there's also the timing of the deal (i.e. i'm 25 vs i'm 35 and this is my last contract) but i'd rather win a lot and get paid 7M a season vs being on a 4-12 team (or an 8-8 team) and getting paid 9M.

switch the 2 and the 8 around and that’s how much I make.

My dad works in the same company in a management role and makes around $80k-$90k.

Hard for me to blame athletes for chasing more money, when literally everyone they’ve ever met starts chasing them for money
