Yeah I think his work hinders Circa’s sound, I think they’re best when their music has more room to breathe. With that said I do really enjoy Descensus and The Amulet.

I would love to hear what Matt Bayles could do with Circa. His work on Foxing’s Dealer was stunning.

The Amulet is his best sounding Circa album

Shit I didn’t realize that was Bayles. I love Chris Walla’s work on Nearer My God but The Dealer also sounds incredible.

Yeah those 2 records sound incredible. I didn’t know Bayles did Dealer for the longest time because quite frankly that band sounds nothing like Botch haha

I’ve had the intro riff to Footsteps at the Pond stuck in my head all day

The problem with that record was that it was boring. Production aside

Yea, but mixing is a HUGE part of the process of how a record sounds. The tones aren’t bad they just are poorly mixed.

Fair enough i suppose! I just think it was a rather large step down from Separation

this record feels so much beefier than rooms. i think it'll end up edging that one out for me. they delivered again.

when i die let me do so beside you
when i die let us go at the same time
when the end comes will we see bright lights burst at the evergreens?
feel the blown sand at our ankles or hear rustled needles in the breeze, who could know?
if we could choose the way we leave, fill out circles on a ballot sheet, vote the way we go
how the noise will cease finally and forever for us both, what would we do, how would we go?

i do not fuck with anyone who doesn't fuck with you ascendant. jordan is at his peak right now.

That’s fine you think so. It’s wrong though.

    Cursed by my ancestry

I just got a tear in my eye reading this. Almost broke down listening to this in the bath the other day. This came at a really good time for me.

And as much as I want artists to do whatever they want with thier sound, I'm really happy because this is the direction I was hoping they would go. Not too dissimilar to Rooms but with elemnts of the Tiny Dots soundtrack worked into thier full sound.

    Anyway, ranking producers:
    1) Sapone(Just wish I felt comfortable listening to more of his work :upside:)
    2) Cathrine Marks( black mile to the surface)
    3) Yip
    4) Walla
