okay, after 4 listens. I LOVE the production on this album. I can't explain why but it just feels very live and I love some of the rawness to it. The drums in particular have this great roomy/raw sound. This album feels very much like it was all recorded in the same space and gives the album a very cohesive quality despite the songs being pretty unique on their own.

also it rarely happens but I actually really like the singing on this album when it happens. I think I'd be okay if he sang a bit more moving forward.

 

Going back and listening to Rooms of the House and Wildlife and I forgot how good they are and how emotionally exhausting the latter is.

 

I agree with this whole heartedly. Will Yip really knows his stuff doesn’t he?

 

Yip only ever shit the bed on one record, his track record is stupid good.

 

What record did he shit the bed on?

 

I think the last Code Orange EP needed a little more oomph to make the sound work.

 

Absolutely, a top 2 producer for me.

Can’t say I heard that one.

In regards to this one though i think he did an even better job than he did on mwY last year

 

To my ears, Julia is the best produced and mixed song I’ve heard in my entire life
