I'm also going on Friday! Couldn't pass up on seeing both some YC deep cuts and WRK's new stuff which I also love

I'm going Saturday. Really interested to see what YC songs he plays. And how many he plays compared to his solo stuff.

It was a great show in Brooklyn. I didn't know the openers but they were both really good too. In addition to the new stuff Ryan played only one, msk, ocean Avenue, fields and fences. I was a little bummed he didn't play the 2nd half of fields and fences but he went right into ocean avenue after that one so I wasn't too sad lol. He said he's hopefully recording a full length this year.

Seeing him play MSK with a fuller band makes me considerably angry that people didn’t appreciate the song when it came out. I still stand by the statement that it’s the most underrated YC song

The WRK songs sounded fantastic live!!!

I can't believe he played MSK. That's one of my favorites. I am even more excited now.

I actually didn't know that one but I knew I was missing something. I'm glad he said it doesn't hurt him to sing the yellowcard songs or anything so we'll probably always going to get some and maybe some other ones they hardly played live

I'm not quite sure this will always be a thing, although I doubt he'll stop playing Yellowcard songs completely. I think it's more of a transitional phase. He pretty much said he's using the opportunity to play some 'deep cuts' because he has only released 10 songs. He also wants to grab some YC fans and introduce them to his solo stuff.

Also he said that on the album he'll be writing he hopes to write more like "No More, No Less". So happy I got to tell him how excited I am about this!

He said ina post before he was writing an album this year. Did he say anything about recording and releasing in 2019 as well, or am I just being hopeful.

He said he was hoping to release a full album by the end of the year, but I’m guessing we can expect it closer to Winter/Spring 2020

Saw an interview with Ryan who seemed very excited and pleased with the way the tour has gone so far. He mentioned there is a great deal of excitement around the management group and they're likely going to be recording a full length later in 2019. All sounds good so far

Man, he sounded phenomenal live. MSK and F&F sounded perfect.

    From an article in Rocksound:

"We’re having the conversations now about how we would go about recording a full-length album. Are we going to try and find a record label or are we going to fun it ourselves? I do think at this point we want to get a record company involved just to take the marketing of the project to the next level. I’m also looking for a label that houses artists similar to the music that I am trying to make and getting on tours with other singer/songwriter type artists and collaborate. I think that around late summer I will hope to get into a studio and record 10/12 songs for an album to come out in 2020."

That sounds cool! I hope it's put up on YouTube or something afterwards.

Unrelated but that Jagermeister stage line up is amazing.

Yeah, some of the comments seem to think the OP is blowing it out of proportion, so who knows.

Some more thoughts from others who were there in that thread^

Honestly that is the least surprising thing I’ve ever heard and is exactly aligned with every other behavior I’ve ever seen from him so you can make excuses for him if you want but this is par for the course for him

His diva behavior has negatively effected his career for how long now? I can honestly say it’s been before I was even a fan-which is a long ass time. I genuinely do hope he is on a perpetual journey to address and improve that side of him but this is not a one off instance that I can give him the benefit of the doubt for.

Even with sound checks, things can go wrong. With Ryan’s name attached, the decisions and pressures (and successes) fall on him.

Reading that Ryan kept apologizing, and was getting frustrated by things not working out is relatable. It’s not like he walked off the stage and refused to come back. If his band was having problems, it’s better he send off. He’s the boss technically. That’s nice if they wanted to stick around, but yeah...sucks for the band and audience. I’m sure things could have always been handled better, but hopefully problems are solved by next venue. As for the supporting band, I’m guessing they are familiar with Yellowcard’s history. If they didn’t feel the dynamic works, finish the tour and never sign on to play again. If it was just an awkward moment, I’m sure they’ll get past it and may already be.

Reading through some of those reddit comments...imagine calling Yellowcard one of your all-time favorite bands and also thinking Ryan Key is anything but a staunch liberal..lol

He/YC does have incredibly bad luck when it comes to technical issues on stage though. Last time I saw them at warped tour, like right after PW came out, their entire sound system went down right in the middle of a song. And then the last time I saw them with LP he broke his pedal and had to finish the song literally kicking his bass drum. I feel like there have been 1 or 2 more issues at shows I’ve been at over the years as well.

And did LP throw a fit? Or did he finish the song bc the show must go on? I feel like the difference is pretty stark but yknow haha

(Not directed at you haha just using that example to highlight they are two different breeds)
