Still holding out for release day. This forum goes by so fast. I won't attempt to catch up on the last 32 pages.

 

I just feel like people just want something to complain about.

There's too much Travis Barker on this record. Mark's bass sounds too much like a bass.

 

The size of that parental advisory sticker on the CD...

 

big sticker, big f-bombs. if not, i'm going to shit on john feldmann for making this album sound like 5SOS and goldfinger!

 

Up All Night sounds awful. I get people have opinions, but Up All Night sounded completely fine.

 

It's gonna sound like AVA and you know it.

 

We should makes lists of things we will do to keep ourselves busy and not listening to a leak if it should happen.

I can't look at Chorus at all if it leaks because I will most definitely pop in here "just for a second" and start reading millions of pages of people's differing opinions which will make my head explode.

My favorite complaint is about Marks voice. The dude is in his late 40's and is pushing 50. What the fuck do people expect lol.

I'm surprised Mark doesn't run his vocals through some kind of pitch correction tool during live performances of songs like Bored to Death. I'm not much of gear head unless a guitar is involved, but this technology must exist in the live setting, not just the studio.

As Firefly showed, they go to great lengths to improve the live sound as they added a secondary guitar track as well as keyboards and other secondary sounds.

Why not go the extra mile for the sake of Mark's vocals?

I guess if there was something viable, without sounding robotic, they'd be using it already.

 

Is there rumors of a leak?

 

44 actually, but yes .. his vocal range has certainly diminished over time, which is to be expected.

 

I don't think either of the guys were known for their vocals other than them being distinct and unique, not really "good".

I'd say the best older guy vocalist still around is Stephan Jenkins of 3eb. Then again dude didn't start the band until his early 30's.

 

Live pitch correction is a thing, but it only works if you get close to the notes. Tom used it on the early Angels tour (he might have also used it later) and it sounded super robotic because he was just so far off the notes.

 

Oh, that's just Tom sitting in the back.

 

I would say Mark's diminished range was overshadowed by how bad Tom got toward the end. Now that Matt is able to actually sing well and hit a lot of notes, it exposes Mark to a degree.

Whatevs.

 

Record stores are beginning to receive their shipments of the album, so people are thinking someone might step up and leak it soon.
