we're close to booking our flights to Ireland and they are in the $600/person range for nonstop round trip

Best travel deal I ever got?

Flew from Baltimore to Seattle & back, and got a week stay at a modest motel by the airport, which had a shuttle that took you to the light rail station.

My whole 7-day stay, my round trip flights, and all my mass transit trips into & around Seattle cost under $600 bucks. If you include my Bumbershoot tickets it was less than $700 total.

$100 dollars per day to go to a big city on the opposite coast for a week & see the best music festival of my life, not bad at all.

 

That's amazing, it's almost that price just to fly back from Portland, ME to Denver one-fucking-way lol

Close, probably more expensive but not expensive relative to living in Midtown or Buckhead: Brookhaven, Vinings, East Atlanta (which I think would have the vibe you’re looking for), Grant Park, Adair Park

Further, more affordable, less distinct Atlanta culture/more suburb-y: Smyrna, Doraville, Sandy Springs

 

For East Atlanta are you talking like, Decatur / Little Five Points or further out?
