I'd probably splice the wires back together and wrap each one with shrink tubing or use wire nuts then wrap the whole cable with it.

 

Dr pepper is great but Pibb is next level and also pretty rare.

 

I never saw it until I moved south, then I saw it fairly often when I lived in NC. Always got it at Cookout. Mmm Cookout.
