It's weird, I'm so torn on this Harper thing. I should want him still but I really don't if he doesn't wanna truly be here. Plus knowing he wouldn't be here in 3 years takes the fun out of it for me.

 

The fact that Mild-Mannered Sweetheart Jonathan Papelbon tried to strangle him is all I need to know to be 100% sure that Harper is a fantastic human being

 

The craziest thing about Papelbon is that he wasn't even the biggest asshat on that '07 Red Sox WS team because that was Schilling's last year

I'm in the same boat. I was excited at the thought of us having Harper - if you plug him into our lineup, we have a really solid lineup top to bottom this year.

But with him holding out, it kinda shows us all that he really doesn't want to be here. Also f that 3 year opt out.
