From what I understand you literally googled gentrification and took the first definition provided which, as dictionary definitions can sometimes be, was extremely biased/inaccurate. You flat out admitted that you didn’t know what it was so IMO no harm no foul but I hope it caused you to look into it more to understand why people would have a negative reaction to it.
