I feel think the pro Tom camp just has trouble admitting that the band in 2016 and beyond is simply better off without him than with him. It’s not like saying that takes away from what his legacy was with the band before but he’s just not the same artist that he was back in the day. What he is now simply doesn’t work with what Mark and Travis are looking to accomplish.

  2. "After Midnight" ... the most streamed song from Neighborhoods on Spotify:

Basically the same amount of plays as "Sober" from California:

"Bored to Death" ... a runaway smash:

@Jason Tate you need to make these points a topic in this week’s linear notes lol

They’re just playing at a club and I think it starts with a kid in high school day dreaming. Not one of their better ones.

  5. "She's Out of Her Mind" was sneaky successful too.

  6. That's been the crux of my argument about the band since their reunion. Personally, I don't like the direction Tom took his music after Blink, so I don't mind him not being in the band given that and his clear lack of real motivation for it, and what the other members wanted the band to be ... but we can clearly see the success and like it or not they achieved the goal they had for the album. It was very successful.

The idea of Tom coming back for Enema shows or warped is 0% interesting to me, and I’m usually at least CURIOUS about what he’s going to release next.

Matt’s the guy now, and if they do anything (which I doubt they will) it should be with Matt. It would feel a bit disrespectful if they didn’t.

Ideally, do a limited edition rerelease with some demos, some merch, and call it good. Focus on the new record.

  8. I’ve been saying it for years but I wish they’d re-release Enema with the demos and package it with the first Urethra Chronicles dvd.

  9. I want all the EOTS demos.

I always wanted TOYPAJ and BCR demos. They gotta be somewhere out there right?

  11. Is there one for all 12 songs? I’ve heard most on YouTube I think

Enema 20 year anniversary edition is just the album re-recorded with Matt and Feldy

  13. If I remember right, wasn’t the BCR album supposed to be all acoustic originally? I’m sure Tom must have recordings of BCR demos.

  14. California?

  15. I think it’s only 8 songs, if I remember right.

There are 9 songs in the demo, two of them, Man Overboard and the Life's So Boring instrumental song, didn't make the cut. The songs that are missing are ATST, Adam's Song, Going Away To College, Mutt and Don't Leave Me.

I know ATST and Going Away were written while they were actually recording the album so there probably aren't any demos of those out there. Mutt was recorded back in 1998 and rerecorded for EOTS with Travis on drums so who knows if there's a demo of that out there.

The demos I’d love to get my hands on are the Dude Ranch demos since we know they are out there somewhere:

People that were close to Mark and Tom have gone on record saying Mark had a cassette tape of the demos and would play them in his car. I want to say Warren Fitzgerald recorded them the same time they recorded Enthused for the Wasting Time single.

  21. Yeah I'd kill to hear some of those Dude Ranch demos. There's songs that they brought over from previous demo tapes and stuff, so there's some other Dude Ranch demos out there. But I'd love to hear the full Apple Shampoo demo, Pathetic, Dammit, Emo...

Yeah I remember reading that besides Apple Shampoo, people heard the demo for Dammit, which was originally titled “Dammit Dammit Son Of A Bitch” after a quote from Beavis and Butthead.

  23. Here are the Dude Ranch demos* that I know are out there

    A New Hope
    Degenerate
    Waggy
    Enthused
    Lemmings

    * Waggy and Lemmings are studio recordings done for 7 inches, so they're not technically "demos" but they are different recordings of Dude Ranch songs that came out pre-Dude Ranch.
