Haha i remember reaaaaally trying to be excited, as it was their first tv performance after the reunion. But it was just soo bad. He looked so awkward too.

 

I think this was why it was so bad to me. They were finally back, doing a big media push, tons of eyes were on them and then......that. haha.

Of course, he went on to keep performing like that, but at the time I expected the some ol' shitty Tom as before. He sounded like he just got a bunch of teeth pulled at the dentist.

i love that close up of him at the beginning of the song where he looks back and forth like he's never seen a real crowd before, haha.

 

My favorite thing was Mark the next day tweeting “Tom knows what you say about his singing”

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'd much prefer blink with Tom even if they only released one album a decade. Mark can do the pop thing with Simple Creatures and Tom can do whatever he wants to do with AVA. Once per decade they bring their influences and ideas together and create whatever that collaboration turns into.

 

Simple Creatures is playing Download Festival in the UK on 6/15.

I think I've said it in this thread before but it would be a perfect time for Mark to bust out some +44 songs.

That’s exciting news. That means they’ll probably have some warm up shows before the big show.

 

Prediction - Tom will play in Blink for Warped Tour and 20 Year Enema anniversary shows this year but will not record new music for the foreseeable future.


No source just making sense of what is happening.

-1999 is the year Enema of the State came out, a 20-year show is almost a guarantee

-Warped Tour set to announce line-up soon

A tour with Tom would still show Tom 'is apart' of blink in some capacity; but Tom's primary focus is/will be TTS and AVA.

Would be good for fans to see that Tom still cares, but also accept the fact that blink is now in a new era with Skiba for the foreseeable future.

After Tom continues to make the music he wants and Mark, Travis and Matt continue the legacy with Blink moving forward... shows some-what harmony between all parties.

Just a theory, but I think this is what Blink fans need.

Blink fans already accepted the new era of blink by buying more copies of California in one year than Neighborhoods sold in six.

 

It’s weird how one hit song can do that for ya. The new album will probably sell less copies. I was so pumped for California that I preordered it, but ended up hating it. I will not be preordering their new Record.

 

Have they though? I'd guess more than half of these comments in this forum are either 'Tom sucks for leaving, is crazy, AVA sucks, ect.' or 'Matt sucks... where's Tom' ... this end's all that for the most part.

Regardless... It won't be surprising if Tom does in fact tour with Blink this year in some capacity this year. It could be just a show or a run of shows. I think it's highly probable... and makes too much sense not too with the Enema of the State 20 year anniversary.

 

I mean the new album will be out. They aren't interrupting an album cycle to be like "hey we love Matt but here's shows with Tom to settle down all you hateful people on the internet that stopped supporting us!"

Nah. Not with them about to release a new album, and Mark starting Simple Creatures, and Tom supposedly about to release more AVA, just nah.

 

I'll take an Enema 20 year tour with Matt based only on his backing vocals in Adam's Song

And the only songs he hasn't played off it are Anthem and Aliens Exist
