Proud to say I've seen the only post-reunion performance of Apple Shampoo but they seriously need to add it or at least something rarer to the set.

If I could request one from thing from Matt, is for him to learn how to properly play I Miss You live.

  3. what's wrong with how he plays it?

OK. I was just wondering because I wasn't sure if it was the type of venue/setting where playing deeper cuts would even make sense. If you're featured at a festival, for instance, you've got a lot of people in the audience that aren't there solely to see you. But if they're headlining and people paid to see blink specifically, then you'd hope they filled out the setlist with some deeper cuts.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Exactly. That is why some of us here are disappointed. This was a headliner show, yet they still played the exact set they use for festival shows. Doesn't give us much hope for set list changes on their tour starting in late July.

it's just weird that looking at the tours for TOYPAJ and Untitled had them playing like 10 songs from those albums and Neighborhoods had like 5 tops? I really want them to jam California songs into the set even if that means missing a deep cut in return for the hits. But I would really like some deep cuts too

My guess is that they'll rotate maybe one or two songs (which still isn't enough, I know) and add a few California tracks after the album drops or maybe shortly before. But the meat of the set list is overall disappointing, I agree.

Nothing wrong, he actually plays it exactly as it is on record. He keeps repeating those octave chords on the verses forever. I'd much rather hear the song live like this:

Tom's verse had a different chord progression, he used to play a simple riff on the bridge (2:18 on the video) that is absent now with Matt. I'm playing the part of a Tom-widow now, I know. But it was just much better. If I were in his shoes I'd copy cat Tom's version.

  9. Haha so Matt DOES play it properly. But I agree, I liked how Tom played it live more.

Yeah haha. I Miss You was a highlight of the set for me while looking for footage of their most recent shows live. Now, with Matt, I just skip it.

  11. "I Miss You" is still the highlight of their set. Just for that ending alone.

I am the minority apparently but I'm still psyched for this show even with the set list it's the hits I can take that. Only change I'd make is one I cannot make yet (additions of any good California songs.) maybe sub first date out for rabbit hole or Stockholm. But I'm good with this one either way

For some reason, I thought you meant it was like, right before he was in Alkaline Trio. My bad. Obviously, as a youngster, he dabbled in some really wild scenes. Skinheads and Satanists. I think I read awhile ago (maybe back when This Addiction came out) that he wasn't involved in the church though. No source to back that up, but swear he's mentioned it.

Still, you have to admit "anti racist skinhead" sounds like an oxymoron haha.

Alright, so you guys already saw the set list from last night. The show was great. Of course I would like some older songs too but the performance was on point. I was SUPER stoked to hear Reckless Abandon and Man Overboard live. Matt sounded great, and they all genuinely looked like they were having a great time. The stage banter is not what it once was for sure, but overall the show was great. I refuse to complain about the setlist because hey, I got to see blink 182... ;)

Looking forward to seeing them again in St. Louis in September. I didn't take many videos but I did upload some clips on my Instagram last night. Username on IG is same as the one on here.

    I love the generic "impressions."

    - Whilst prevailing a new chapter for the band they’ve still kept in touch with their frenetic pop-punk sound

    - dissecting a blend of familiar instrumentals

    - yet still preserving elements of originality.

    - stabilising past roots from the band we grew-up with and grew to love.

can you imagine blink being half as good of a live band as Less Than Jake? they're around blink's age, have maybe triple the amount of songs and you could ask them to play something off of the Smoke Spot EP and they'd do it. granted, i don't think they ever stop touring.

I also love that those 'first impressions' say the album opens with BTD when it doesn't.

  22. And literally only talking about the songs that have already been released. It's like reviewing a film after only watching the trailer.

To be fair, the title says they heard "Blink-128's" new album. Totally different, guys!
