Haha yeah 2 of my favorite games ever. Played through both on my own and then used a guide to do everything. Still have the guide and complete boxes and games haha.

 

Did you ever play the third one that was released for the DS?

 

Golden Sun is a series I never dove into, are there just 2? Can't you link the file from the first to the second?

 

mixed reviews but from what I've read it you like Road Rash, it seems like you'll enjoy this. especially if you can get a group together I'm sure it would be a blast and scratch that itch.

 

Yeah, I'm reading more about it and if it's anything close to Road Rash 64, it'll definitely be worth the $20. It's not meant to be a premier elite game, it's fun as hell!

You can definitely link from 1st to 2nd, not sure about 2nd to 3rd cuz I haven't played 3rd

I have the pc version on steam and its so much fun. Had no idea a switch port was coming.

 

The Phantasy Star release on switch is supposed to be good and it's real cheap.

 

the Golden Sun series really is so good. the third one is a definitely a drop in quality but still worth playing, but one and two are worth all the praise in the world

the third one was just so easy and so loaded with dialogue that it was never fully engaging

 

how does it work with using your file from 1 on 2

 

soundtrack is pretty cool so far.

it’s your standard mystery dungeon with some add-ons:
- 9 jobs at the start (3 jobs later on). i THINK you can multiclass? i haven’t gone to that part yet.
- you get to pick 2 feats at the start
- there’s 3 game modes, the standard permadeath (but you can store items/gold in the bank for future characters), the beginner friendly one (death you go back to town, lose half of exp, jp and gold), and the hardcore one where death means you lose everything
- you earn jp as well as exp. former is used to learn class skills, and latter is just to level up (every level you can pick a stat to increase)
- i don’t think there’s hunger
- for subquests, there’s a character in the town that spreads “rumors” that you can accept. you get cool items and exp/jp for finishing them.
- there’s cooking
- you can capture monsters, breed them, raise them and then turn them into pets that level up

that’s what i have so far. but this and Wargroove releasing at the same period is NOT good for me

Yah figured that you doofus, I meant gameplay wise. Do your characters leave off at the level they were at in the past game?

 

Golden Sun 2 has a different main cast, but later in the game you meet with the cast from GS1 who join your party and the characters from GS1 have the same level/other stuff as they did in the past game
Not sure if that needs to be spoiler tagged at all (I'm sure it doesn't) but always better to be safe

 

it’s actually pretty funny because there are multiple codes you can pick depending on how much you’re willing to type with a dpad on a GBA haha. the shortest one only transfers your summons/Djinn and character names i think but the longest transfers stats, money, items, and Djinn but that code is literally like 300 characters long

 

Anyone dive into wargroove yet? There is online play right?
