want new themes. but if they plan on doing a UI redesign i understand why they would hold that off

 

It just seems so weird that we are almost in the third year of this console and there has basically been no update to the UI, the store or anything. It's a great system and has great games, but some quality of life improvements can go a long way.

 

I picked up a used DS Lite last night, I missed playing my GBA games on it. All about nostalgia these days haha

 

Like I said, I think it is a good idea. You think it’s going to be significantly be cheaper though? I guess it should be but making it smaller sounds hard. Maybe if they make it handheld only.

That would be wonderful. I really liked the 3DS and the whole sticker system of customization.

 

I want folders too, but otherwise the UI is very, very good and a lot better than what the other two have. Of course it also has less features. The store is a different story, but all stores are kind of bad. I wish it was faster though.

 

There's a few gems on sale right now on the eShop. I've made a list of ones I think are pretty decent or better:

Xeodrifter - $1.99 - Very fun, short side scrolling metroid-like game. Not outstanding, but enjoyable and fun gun mechanics.

Ikaruga - $9.99 - Fantastic top down bullet hell shooter where the core mechanic is flipping your ship to avoid different types of bullets. Very challenging and has co-op. Classic game.

Disgaea 5 Complete - $29.99 & Disgaea 1 Complete - $39.99 - I feel like these don't need a lot of explaining. Humorous tactics based JRPG set in an anime style hell. Hours and hours of gameplay.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - $8.99 - Stress inducing party game. Local co-op required. One person has to defuse the bomb while the others have the manual and try to guide you through it.

Superbeat Xonix - $10.49 - Rhythm game with a nice leaderboard system and unlockables. Tons of songs, but not a giant variety in styles.

Musynx - $20.99 - the exact opposite type of rhythm game. Fully customizable difficulty and an enormous range of genres from classical to emo to anime. No leaderboards, no unlockables.

Happy Birthdays - $29.99 - Developer of the original Harvest Moon series tries his hand at a sandbox game where you can manipulate the world and raise various types of creatures from dogs to dinosaurs.

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong - $12.74 - Just released for Switch. Design your own ski lifts, ramps and more to complete challenges or just build weird constructions and watch the skiers die in ridiculous situations.

Hopefully there's something new for everyone. Don't forget that even though the sale is going on new releases such as Wargroove, Tangledeep and Downwell are out now.

 

Downwell is a gem.

have you seen Road to Redemption? haven't played it but it's a spiritual successor to Road Rash, one of my brother and I's most played game back in the day.

 

The Golden Sun games were my obsession back in the day.
