they're doing a pretty big south/midwest tour in April. i'd love to see them if i still lived in chicago, but alas, they aren't coming any further north than charlotte on my side of the country. :(

Nope. Looks like a bunch of rad TX locals just judging by the flier. That's some dope art.

After doing some research, apparently this might be due to Profound Lore putting pressure on them because Craig decided it was a good idea to schedule a live appearance for his Sturmfurher (sp?) project at a festival in Italy in the spring. Way to distance yourself from not having nazi sympathies by scheduling a live appearance of your nazi-themed side project, ya dolt.

This is pretty dumb, but also fun. Which sometimes is all you really need:

ERLEN MEYER • "Sang et Or" Album-Premiere

Sophomore album from French metal band Erlen Meyer (ha!). Elements of black, post, and sludge metal as well as hardcore and post-hardcore. Apparently it's thematically a tribute to Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock. The album is on Apple Music too.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

One second listen, Astronoid is growing on me a ton. At first I wasn't crazy about it, mostly the vocals - which is something they wanted to concentrate on for this record and really make the main focus. I really appreciate the ebb and flow of the record though as it is a ton more nuanced that AIR was.

There are some great tracks on there (I Wish I Was There While The Sun Set, I Dream In Lines, Ideal World), but it just didn't hit me upside the head like a ton of bricks like AIR did on first listen. Whereas AIR had some "dream-thrash"/definite black metal underpinnings, this definitely starts to delve more into the prog/math rock realm as times while still maintaining their core sound. It isn't a bad thing; it's just a different progression than I expected. It's still definitely Astronoid, and I appreciate the renewed focus on the vocals. But AIR had a crushing atmosphere that just wasn't there on first listen for me with the s/t.

All of this said, I'm still gonna spin the hell out of the album though some more because it definitely has the characterisitics of a grower.

Also, I was curious and wanted your opinion on something; 90s Cradle Of Filth, great or terrible?
