Very unsurprised by the Hideo news. Dude had the worst string of luck in NXT/WWE. Was anyone else as hyped as KENTA coming into WWE that flopped this hard?

 

what an odd smackdown. it gets points for being different. The way the ending was cut up was very very odd (oh fuck, we still have another commercial spot)...but i like Bryan freaking out, then H's face popping up, announcement.

and LMAOOOOOOO at that explanation by Mandy Rose. Would LOVE to hear the genius that came up with that during the writing meeting.


this was a GREAT string of raw and smackdown. probably the best back to back in a long time

 

Delighted KENTA is leaving. Can't wait to see him back at Noah.

Such a shame how this all worked out for him. Such horrendous timing with the injuries.

 

Ambrose and Itami leaving sucks. Had a soft spot for both, especially Itami. When he came in, he looked like he could easily have been NXT champ. That hype package when he first hit the GTS was great too. Injuries just killed any momentum.

WWE do themselves no favours when it comes to Japanese stars on the main roster. Their booking of them has been complete trash and damage any chances they may have if signing anyone else from New Japan. If Kushida does go to WWE, he’s gonna need all the luck in the world.

 

Itami's booking really wasn't WWE's fault. He was never healthy, until the end, and at that point, their faith in him staying healthy was probably pretty minimal. I'm glad he's going and can't wait to see him somewhere else though.

 

how fucking good has Smackdown been the last couple of months? honestly feel like it’s the best it’s been top-to-bottom in years

Sammy Guevara and Best Friends look to be AEW bound

 

AEW is the perfect place for Best Friends honestly. Those two will benefit most from AEW being a thing IMO

 

someone on reddit suggested a “curtain call” esque moment between Seth/Dean/Roman if Seth beats Brock at Mania and man would that be a perfect moment and send-off for the group. i fear it would kill the crowd dead for whatever came after it though, and i really want that women’s main event.

I'm really looking forward to Viper in WWE. She is a great babyface and would be a good counter to what we get from Nia.

Oh man. Just imagine the possibility of Chuckie T doing guest commentary from time to time.

 

i still dont understand the WWE's logic behind forcing Charlotte into this. Like, I understood why they wanted to push Reigns. The WWE feels like they always need a top Hogan-esque guy to draw and no matter what the crowd told them, they were fully convinced Reigns was the next Cena. Now, they may have been right, but their approach to forcing it down our throats was INSANE (and along with Lesnar, set the company back many years)

but with Charlotte.... i don't necessarily get it.

They're clearly seeing how much the crowd is invested in Rousey vs Becky. They have a face, they have a heel. They have a big name brand and they have the WWE darling. And maybe they want to do with Charlotte with what they wanted to with Reigns and Cena, but why? There's no track record to suggest that they NEEEEEED a top woman draw like that. This whole woman main eventing thing is new and i just dont see why they think Charlotte NEEEEEEDS to be their. From WWE's point of view... Becky's a really attractive woman, who's really confident on the microphone, carries herself really well, and obviously, can wrestle as well. I'm not sure what their hesitation is. Like from WWE/Vince's mind, what their hesitation is.

they have their mania main event.... adding charlotte or not adding charlotte won't really add more butts in seats or me eyes on the ppv.

 

Charlotte is Reigns. They don't care about the crowd. They don't care about what makes a good story or what people want. They want a Cena draw for the female audience.

They didn't learn anything from the fact that nothing about this strategy actually worked with Roman. He didn't draw extra money, didn't pop ratings. Charlotte won't either, but they're not gonna face that reality.
