I could see Reylo having to sacrifice themselves to fulfill some sort of force destiny. And for some reason, I think Finn is going to die. That's probably just because he almost did last time.

I have a feeling Rey is going to be the one dying. Just a weird feeling.

Although this will definitely be the last time we see Carrie, Mark, and Billy live action which is sad enough, considering the direction we’re going after 9 with two separate series seemingly in different time periods with totally new characters you have to wonder if this is the last time we will see R2, 3PO, chewy in live action too. Even our new characters really.

Maybe you see R2 and 3PO in the Cassian series. Maybe we see Chewy in a sequel to Solo? But wouldn’t be surprised if this is the send off for these characters.

Of all the main cast members, I actually think Finn might be least likely to die. I could honestly see them setting him up to lead the Resistance or even whatever interim government forms once the First Order is defeated. Would make sense for his arc.

r2 AND 3PO seem like they'll always appear here and there in future films if it can make sense to the story as a fan service. we've already seen them in R1, but I think we will still get plenty more Chewy in additional "Solo" films.

I'd honestly love a whole movie about kashyyyk and the Wookies themselves.

Idk. for Chewy Im just thinking Iger said they are going to slow down on the films. Regardless of the reception or how "good" it is its hard for me to imagine any studio green-lighting a sequel for Solo considering the box-office. We have a RJ trilogy with all new characters and a whole series for Benioff and Weiss probably with new characters in a different era. I feel like at some point these cameos are going to be just ridiculous. Even Rogue One's felt unnatural (still think they shouldve just been seen in the background of the Tantive IV).

Minus a cameo from R2/3PO in the Cassian series (because it makes sense with the time period) I honestly would like them to retire these characters from live-action for good. We all love them. We get it. They are minor characters though. They had their story which traversed 10 movies, one 6-season show, comics, books...Give them a happy ending in Episode 9. Theres plenty of other easter eggs/cameos that they can incorporate for fan service. Lets move on.

Solo is #10 on the top domestic box office totals for 2018. The narrative that it did poorly needs to be taken out back and flogged. Yes it was the least successful of the new SW movies, and critical reception was probably less than they anticipated, but people wanted rian johnson taken out back and shot and they aren't quitting on Episode 9 are they? It (so far) has performed better than movies that are currently up for best picture at the oscars (domestically).

Yes, it makes sense for Iger to pump the breaks and let the movies breathe, but to say Solo won't get a sequel because of the Box office - idk i'm just tired of hearing how poorly Solo did when the tangible numbers (in comparison to other films this year) say otherwise.

edit: i'm not yelling at you lol, just my feelings in general.

Solo was fun and I definitely wouldn’t mind a sequel. It would be nice for Ron Howard to return since I feel he understands the character and really set it all up beautifully for more movies. We need Maul in more live action.

Solo did poorly when you look at how much it cost to make. If it hadn't been made twice and had an inflated budget as a result, we probably would be talking about it as a mild disappointment instead of a failure.

I 100% want a sequel to it. It was a fun time and they got most of the fan-service origin stuff out of the way. I think they could actually do some new interesting things with a sequel. Plus, Alden was great as Han.

Totals and rankings arent everything. All big blockbusters will be high on the rankings. Theres a reason Spiderman 3 (900mil), the Amazing Spiderman 2 (708mil), Transformers:TLK (600mil), etc... make big money and dont get sequels. Comparing them to this Solo only made (392) and because of the reshoots exceeded the Production budget of ALL of those previously mentioned. Take into account the marketing which is a lotand the percentage of money taken by theaters Solo did lose the studio money or at the very least barely made any money. Studios arent going to spend the high amount of money on a blockbuster after the first movie in a series doesnt do that well.

Im not blaming Solo. I really liked the film. Disney and Iger fucked up releasing it in May. They fucked up in rushing it after the drama and firing the directors when it was close to wrapping production. But mostly there was very little hype or fervor around Solo's released. I just dont see it happening. Big studios want ot make big money and they wont green light a 200million+ budget that isn't guaranteed to make its money back and arent going to waste time on a lower-budget film when they can make something that will make them more

I think a Solo sequel, or a spiritual successor that continues that story (maybe not necessarily a direct Solo sequel), would do just fine in a few years, they set up what could be a really interesting story, and the cast was excellent. More Darth Maul, more Enfys Nest, more Donald Glover, man sign me up I'll be there opening night.

Also, maul is unnecessary. He had incredible arcs in clone wars and rebels.

Does it bother anyone how people could see Starkiller base beams hitting Hosnian Prime from Takodana? It doesnt bother me that much, but just taking a second to look at the Star wars galaxy map they are nowhere near eachother lol On the map Bespin and Hoth are considered the same point because they are so close and you probably couldnt even see Bespin from Hoth because they are too far away. Why didnt they just put it in the same place like Hoth/Bespin on the official map?

God will this title drop already...

If filming doesn’t end until late February they may just wait until SW Celebration to release the title with a trailer.

Like what Marvel did with Endgame.

Not gonna post actual photo links for those looking to truly stay spoiler free but this guy in the first 11 rows has some leaked set photos, i guess he lives local, and the sets arent that closely guarded. Non-studio, location pieces it seems. Nothing spoilery that i can see but ill let you do the digging if you wish.

I think it’s also worth noting LucasFilm wanted to push Solo back to December and Disney said No due to Mary Poppins which also underwhelmed. I think it would have done much better in that slot even with the competition cause it was way better than Aquaman.

Im not so sure but if anything I think having Solo in December may have caused a studio to move Bumblebee, Spiderverse, Or Aquaman like Alita did. It also would’ve had more production time and could’ve built up more hype into which there wasn’t much in May (at least from my perspective).
