She absolutely meets my expectations, when I watch, I'm entertained. I am NOT a fan of her, I don't root for her, I sincerely hope that after Mania she backs out and lets the rest of the women's division flourish like it should but she performs better than I honestly thought she would. She pulls it off. A ton of people in her position would not be so fortunate.

At the end of the day WWE is a promotion, it had a crack at a star that is better known that most WWE stars. I'm a realist, I knew they would push her quick, it's smart business, to them at least. A ronda signing isn't in favor for us fans and what we look for. We want to see talent work their ass off then get pushed to the top upon earning it. WWE doesn't work that way, it's why we hate it usually. The pool of wrestlers that should be main eventing but aren't in WWE is absurd. With acknowledging all of this, i'm not gonna knock or hate on Ronda, knock Vince, knock Trips and Steph but Ronda is just doing what she is directed to do. I don't think she demanded things had to be like this. Again, this is a promotion business, Ronda making a debut or winning a big match/title hits the newswire hard across all platforms, WWE cares about that more than ANYTHING, getting national attention.

I'm no saying you HAVE to speak positively about Ronda, but to dismiss her or not get her credit where it is due isn't fair IMO.

The Ronda/Banks match felt more like an NXT style match than a standard main roster match IMO

 

Showed the Nia rumble moment to my wife (thinking she;d hate it)....she was super ready for Nia to whoop Randy's ass during the stare down. Had it been KO instead of Randy, she'd have turned into a full Nia mark.

 

UGH I hope we get KO back tonight...

Bayley's character isn't designed for that, either. Bayley's mean streak is a cool character trait that should be worked up to over time. They did it perfectly with her finally going over Sasha in NXT. That should be the blueprint for Bayley losing it on just about anyone. Her character just doesn't make any sense otherwise (and which is why she's been so stagnant/faltered in the last year or so—it's so painfully obvious that Vince and creative have no idea how to properly utilize a character like hers, which is hilarious when you consider that Bayley is essentially what Vince desperately wanted Cena and Roman to be in the crowd's eyes for years and years)

 

Neither was Batista

 

The first half of your argument is like saying that because Giannis was super green when he was drafted, he should have been sent down to the G League until he developed into what he is today. Nah, dude had to be in the NBA to become what he is!

NXT is different in that there are plenty of talented workers, some more talented than those on the main roster, but the company doesn't want Ronda to be a workhorse. They want her to be an entertainer who brings new eyes to the product. I think we've seen enough people flop who we thought would succeed (and vice versa) to know that years spent in NXT won't equate to main roster success, both from a character standpoint or a wrestling standpoint. Ronda is exactly where she is supposed to be.

Edit: I'll add to this that the fact that Ronda has cared enough to even attempt to become proficient in ring is, at the very least, commendable. Of course you want everyone in this industry to have that mindset, but it would have been so easy for Ronda to collect checks and coast. For all her faults, that ain't one
